Despite the setback, producer Peter Horton told the NYT they are still trying to drum up interest for The Body Politic from other networks, which means there is still a chance film crews may descend yet again.

I like this part:

Have to admit, at this point, I'm not holding my breath.
Lovely if it happens...if not, he'll find something better.

I like that Richmond, VA has a vested interest in promoting this show. I've even seen it mentioned on the Twitter tourism site...I think they were counting on the show getting picked up and helping their local economy.
The show certainly has some dedicated supporters...and that can't hurt..

The good folks at E!Online are certainly campaigning for this show!
New blog:
http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_w ... never.html
We are not advocating taking this advice...just putting a link to the E!online page.
Heck, I'd love to see it picked up just so I could hear Jason say one of the other character's names! It would seem Brian Austin Green's character is named....

The answer to that question will involve quite a bit of intense research. Might just to have to go through every one of the hundreds and hundreds I have saved to my hard driveJosefismysire wrote:And, what picture don't you love, Ranger??RangerCM wrote:That's the best article yet! From Natalie Abrams (assistant to online with Kristin) on Twitter:
The producers have already emailed to say thanks for the fan support. Spread the word about The Body Politic! Thanks guys!

And still more ....

An excerpt:
Can entertainment web sites save Body Politic? by Robert Seidman
As has been fairly well documented, I don’t follow the development process much, and based on where my energies are, I don’t see that changing. I could just be imagining it, but there seems to be more angst about the CW not picking up Body Politic than any show I can remember. That’s based on comments here, articles I’ve seen, stuff on twitter, etc. I’d blame it on the echo chamber, but it’s really the only show where that sort of sentiment is being echoed repeatedly. I mean sure, a few people expressed displeasure that FOX didn’t pick up Ron Moore’s Virtuality (by the way, the airing of the pilot has been moved up from July 4th to June 26th at 8pm ET), but it hasn’t been on the same scale as what I’ve perceived with Body Politic.

Do we never learn?*this is meant in jest*...OK I admit it, if internet campaigning saves this show, then my faith MAY be restored in its usefulness. Not saying we should, personal choice but it would be nice. Jason is going to get plenty of questions about it this weekend from all my american girls i'm sure. I'll keep at least one crossable crossed, the part that isn;t jaded by this whole year.

I have no illusions that anything coming from the viewing public would make a difference with those in charge of network programming.
However, the noisy and very persistent buzz coming from the media within the industry just might get them to sit up and take notice.

This pilot sure got a lot of buzz. Kinda like ML being the best-cancelled-TV show.
Reading those articles make me long for it to be picked up sooo badly. Peter Horton was from the 80's show thirtysomething from way back and he produced a few episodes. I'd like to think he was under the tutelage of Marshall Herskovitz and Edward Zwick who later produced Legends of the Fall and the TV show Once & Again.
I hope Dawn will make up her mind and greenlight BP soon.

Body Politic is still getting buzz..
http://www.tvfanatic.com/2009/06/gossip ... on-pickup/
Gossip Girl Spinoff, Body Politic Battling For Mid-Season Pickup
Two shows that did not make the CW's fall roster may still have a shot come spring as mid-season replacements. According to TV Guide, Body Politic (Shonda Rhimes' new D.C. drama) and the Gossip Girl spinoff (featuring young Lily in the '80s) are both in the running.
These shows were not picked up this summer despite decent hype - better than decent in the case of the Gossip Girl spinoff starring Brittany Snow and Krysten Ritter.
Of the two, the spinoff seems to have more fans among CW execs, but if The Vampire Diaries, Melrose Place or The Beautiful Life falter, both may get their chance yet.
