NO question; Alex "got" Mick and totally nailed him...
I imagine that he, too, feels he won't always have this same level of perfect one-ness with a character... He's a good actor, but he can't possibly be sooo on the wavelength of every character that he was with Mick...
And Mick IS an amazing character. He just is. Alex breathed life into him, and I have no interest in ever seeing anyone else BE him, but he remains one of THE best conceived and developed tv characters ever...

Mick is, to me, I'm not speaking for others, like a superhero. He has weaknesses, but he's almost untouchable, yet...he's vulnerable. LOL So complex, that Mick St. John.

On Tuesday night, I wrote on my blog "Well, by tomorrow we will know what's in store next for our beautiful vampire. No matter what role Alex plays, he will always be Mick to me."
