Re: B.C. (Episode Six)
Mick is at the top of his game in this episode. He now knows that Beth is attracted to him and he's enjoying it.
So what do you make of his expression as he's watching Beth leave? Is he thinking of the case and Lola? Is he regretting baiting her? Is he looking forward to spending an evening in a club with her (even though it's suppose to be business)? Or is it something else?
***I have the Club Valis scene capped but don't have time to post them until this afternoon. I'll do it when I get home from work. And then I'm off to go see The Little Mermaid in NYC. I won't be done with BC until this weekend. We'll start Ringer on Monday.

I think that look is ALL about anticipation. He can't wait to see what 2 hours of preparation will result in IMO.
A delightful combination of playful and something a little more passionate.
Divine.

GA~~~
Have a wonderful time in NYC!!
What I hoped Mick's expression meant, was that he was intrigued by Beth's little jealous comment and anxious to see where the night would lead. I have further thoughts on what I would have liked him to do, but that would probably be

I think that whole implanting the chip conversation had him thinking impure thoughts. Which is what we want, right? Mick was truly feeling good about himself and Beth in this ep... good enough to take on a 500 year old vamp... and be cocky about it.

Oh hell yes, we want the impure thoughts.
And 'implanting the chip'---yeah, that's right, with a really big needle.
Except Beth didn't feel the needle penetrating her.....skin, so, that's not a good sign

That look is a definite one of anticipation. He's looking forward to being with Beth at the club. He's having sexy thoughts

Re: B.C. (Episode Six)
I really tried to stay away from all those innuendos. You girls don't need any encouragement. LOL.
I apologize if any of the caps are not clear. It was difficult to find ones that were in the club with the colored strobe lights.
On with the show...
Mick gets to Valis first and waits for Beth.

And here comes Beth.

Looking divine. I'm sure Mick thinks so as he watches her approach him.

Beth gripes that she had to spend two hours getting herself up to Club Admissionability and he's dressed in the same old thing he always wears.

Mick laments that perpetual cool is the vampires curse.

Beth giggles. I thought it was so sweet. Mick looks at Beth adoringly. At least I saw it that way.

She then asks Mick how he gets away with wearing silver. He says its gold and where is the VIP room? Beth says it's upstairs, in the back. Mick walks around a bit to get a look. Beth stops him to ask if he's going to do the vampire jumping thing. Mick sounds a little defensive as he tells her he has to - he doesn't have a chip.

Beth complains that being human is so lame. But Mick says she wears it well. Anybody else nearly spontaneously combust at the way he says it?

Mick watches her go in and then looks around for a good spot to enter.

In the club, Beth makes her way to the entrance to the VIP room, states that she got her invite and offers her hand for the scanner.

It works and she's let in. But, apparently, the chips are personalized and it's Renee Beresford that shows up on the screen. The doorman doesn't let anyone else in as he goes to find the owner.

Beth looks around as she enters. The upstairs VIP room is teeming with couples in erotic situations. A tray of vials is being passed around.

The doorman finds Lola and tells her that the girl that just came up has Renee's chip. He wants to know if he should pull her out but Lola says she'll handle it.

Beth takes a vial of Black Crystal. Her hand is scanned and approved.

She goes to put it in her purse but is stopped by Lola who tells her its to be consumed on the premises.

Beth says she's waiting for a friend. Lola knows Beth isn't Renee Beresford and wants to know how she got Renee's chip.

Beth answers that Renee gave it to her, she wanted to try whatever it was that was in the vial.

Lola tells her to go ahead and try it.

Beth says she's going to wait for her friend. Lo and Behold, Mick walks up. Lola comments that she knew she should have closed the windows.

Mick says that she must be Lola. Lola asks who he is and Mick responds that they have a mutual friend and he's been worried about her.

She says that if its the friend she's thinking of, he's not worried. Lola wants to know if 'this little thing here' (Beth) is helping Mick track her down.

Mick is quick to say that Beth has nothing to do with this.

Lola thinks she does. She tells Beth that she and her friend have something in common - she knows Beth can see that. And that Mick and Beth are 'just friends'.

Mick tells Lola to leave Beth alone. Yeah right. Lola continues to taunt Beth; saying that Mick tells her what he is but leaves her on the edge of their world looking in. Doesn't Beth want to do more than just look?

Mick asks Beth what it is that she has in her hand. Lola tells him its what Beth came there for.

He obviously wants Beth out of the situation (read: danger). He tells her she has what she came for, she should go.

I'll post the rest of the scene later tonight. Late tonight.
Take your time GA... you are so good TO do this and so good AT doing this!
As to your question... I nearly spontaneously combusted at every word he spoke in this ep... THE VOICE was just on overdrive.
But I have a question... why do you think she suddenly asked him about his ring... which I wanted desperately to know more about... but then he gave a terse answer and that's all we ever then heard about it... I wanted to know more and why didn't Beth want to know more than just its metallic content?

Re: B.C. (Episode Six)
I'd just like to point out that screenshot of the tray of Black Crystal is GORGEOUS!
I LOVE the look on Mick's face when he's watching Beth walk towards him - it's all there. Love, desire, uncertainty, guilt...just love it.
I love this scene. Watching Lola taunt Mick with Beth is such fun...you can just see the wheels turning in her head. I always had the feeling that she KNEW what was doing between the two of them and couldn't resist twisting that knife just a tad.

Well weren't we still in the era when vamps could smell the past and and glimpse the future?
And the screen shots she is coming up with are amazing... not to mention her clever captions...

Re: B.C. (Episode Six)
Whoa! The MickBethness is thick in here.
I liked Lola's taunting in the club. It made it even more fun seeing her take a silver bath at the end!
The "I knew I should've closed the window." line cracked me up and was well-delivered. But how did she automatically know Mick was referring to Josef as the friend who was 'worried' about her?
She didn't know who Mick was. Seemed odd to me. They really should've shown at least a flashback scene of Josef and Lola to better establish that there had been a relationship there; it fell a little flat imo.

Oh I LOVED Lola in the club... proud, cocky, gorgeous... and utterly disdainful of human Beth and young Mick; I mean is she not the first woman on the show that didn't seem even remotely interested in Mick? And that is a great line about the window... made me think of all the old vamp movies I've watched where the bat flies in the window.
I think she knew he was working for Josef cause she HAD to assume Josef was trying to track her down... Josef had left messages on her cell, remember? And he had tried to find her himself before he hired MIck... so she took his money and ran, knew he was on her trail, and then Mick shows up saying a friend is worried... she knew. She's 500 years old... she knew.
But a scene with Josef and Lola woulda been GREAT. Two egotistical and hedonistic ancient vamps? Had to be a hoot!
