I agree that she sensed the darkness but couldn't yet put her finger on it.

Sarah was intelligent and I'd think that she was able to think outside the box. She was lovely, of course but Charles/Josef had been around for three hundred and fifty years and his attraction would not have been strenghtened and lasted if there was not something very special about her soul that attracted him. too.

Lots of great fic has been written about them. Lots of room for more.

Even they were decades apart in time and the culture in which they lived, I sensed that Sarah and Beth were kindred souls in that they were willing to take risks to follow their heart.
