Re: Whiteout, part 2: more discussion, links, and so on
Put me on the list if Alex is making house calls on any fan who owns "Man-Thing" and it wasn't on sale (more's the pity)!
But I liked it better than "Feed" which was wa-a-a-y too violent and sick for me. I should get several house calls for owning and watching it.

See now, I LIKED Feed. Alex was completely awesome in it.
Although I will admit, there were a few places I had to turn my head...

True! I own Feed... he WAS awesome in that. Cannot say the movie was the best and there were head turning moments... but his performance was all-in, baby!

Well, as this has turned into quite the discussion about Man-Thing (which I haven't seen either), AND seeing as we don't have a Man-Thing thread, I'm going to split off these posts into a new thread.

Re: Man-Thing: discussion, links, and so on
I will confess that I've watched part of Man-thing. As soon as Alex's character was *ahem* no longer involved, I switched off. And I think that had I had the option, I'd have certainly fast forwarded to Alex's scenes, and skipped the rest.

I second that Lucky. I clicked it off after his departure AND I fast forwarded to his parts!

Ok, I just have to laugh.
Only WE could take possibly the worst movie ever made by SciFi and discuss it to death because Alex is in it.
If that's not dedication, I don't know what is.

OMG! ManThing has its own thread now!!!!!!
There is something verrrry wrong with that sentence...
Like I said, he can NOT complain that his fans aren't dedicated!

I don't know that Man-Thing is the worst movie ever made by SciFi. Let me put it this way, there is some REALLY stiff competition for that title.

This is what happens when you (collectively) wander shamelessly off-topic. Just sayin'.wpgrace wrote:

OK, soooo agree with P'Gal and grace (you're a southerner, too?!!- Land sakes, child, I'd have never guessed) about being so dedicated to Alex that we're actually discussing Man-Thing. I'll admit to watching it, cringing from time to time, and laughing hysterically when Deputy Fraser screams his last (like a girl, no less). Sorry, P'Gal, but honestly, I wondered if he had done himself bodily injury to scream at that octave.
As for Feed, I own it and have watched it a couple of times. Didn't see much the first time through (hard to see through closed eyes), but the shock factor wore off the second time around and I found the movie interesting, if not a bit disturbing (on several levels).
Alex may do a passable southern deputy, but he nails the psycho-path dead on.

No worries, DSR - I'd wondered the same thing a time or two.
Feed doesn't shock me anymore (yes, I still pop it in occasionally) - I just have deep-seated issues with one thing in particular in the movie, so I just can't watch that scene. But he definitely nails the sociopath role!

I've never seen (or heard of) man-thing, but it would be hard pressed to outdo a movie where the HIGH point is knowing that its principal stars are Lorenzo Lamas and Debbie Gibson. (Watching the shark take a vertical leap to chew on a jet-liner, was just icing.)

As for Deputy Fraser, can you imagine the vocal discipline for an Aussie to come off with a passable southern American accent? Wonder who Alex beat out in the auditions....
