I'm not sure why I love them so much. Maybe because they make his eyes look kinda um... dead...

I'm not really a fan of baby Mick. I much prefer the Mick we got.

So let me get this straight... Alex's eyes change color... and thus so do Mick's, but apparently even when he vamps out, Mick's eyes are not always one stable color... I wonder if that IS the lenses, or if it's idiosyncratic to Alex's eyes underneath the lenses...

I think the cloudy lenses were an experiment. Maybe to make him look "sick" in Fever. That is a production shot, not a cap. If you look at the screencaps (or view the ep, which is always preferable!), they seem to have decided to give his eyes a "jaundiced" look instead--the whites of his eyes are quite yellow--but the irises are hazel till he vamps out. Maybe the cloudy lenses didn't work as well visually on film as they did in still photos. So we got these Mick eyes instead:

Alle -- pehaps you're right about the lenses being experimental. I'm looking again and I think what puts me off is that you don't see his pupils! In the other vamped photos, you can see his pupils clearly which doesn't make him look quite as "sick" just vamped. Of course I would be remiss if I didn't post the ultimate Mick-vamped-out-in-the-Fever-episode photo:



And Grace -- I'm thinking the colored contacts wouldn't be affected by his natural eye color -- otherwise they really wouldn't work as colored contacts...

He's just magical, that's all there is to it. I mean look at that mouth like mwj01 said. Oh...I have to sit down now. Oh wait--I am sitting...
