Appreciating Alex with Pics - part 31

Post by allegrita »

Can you believe that it's already time to start a new thread?! :teeth:

As we begin another chapter of Appreciating Alex, I'd like to gently remind all of us (yes, me included) that at MLA we have always encouraged our members to be respectfully admiring of Alex, and to honor the whole man, not just his parts. Yes, this is a pictures thread. But the pictures remind us of the talent, hard work, and dedication that make Alex the amazing person he is. He isn't just a pretty face, or torso, or even eyelashes. :blushing:

So I thought I'd start us off with a look at a few of the amazing roles Alex has played over the years... roles he has embodied completely, and brought to life for us to enjoy. What a chameleon he is.

And even though we normally don't put Mick pics in the Alex thread, today's the 4th anniversary, so I think Mick belongs in the place of honor.

, to you, Alle, and to Alex.

Love the retrospective, and its inclusion of our Mick today. In fact I had just written in the Mick thread recently how struck I was, again, at how differently Alex plays his guys, at how he manages to find expressions, gestures, tones of voice for each of them, to make them individuals. He certainly found another gear for Mick. No one else has quite been like Mick. I just don't think we'd all still be here, 4 years later, in spite of how handsome he is... and God love us he is sooooooo haaaaaaaandsome :melts: ... if it were just about parts.

Alex seems to try to get into the very soul of his characters, and then, the best part, he let's US in! :clapping: THAT is his true seduction. :hearts:

Well, that. And the little jokes with Canadian reporters about being more dangerous naked.

We may have lost "alluring" from the thread title, but Alex never loses a moment of his allure.

That we appreciate.

Repeatedly.

With pics.

Because we all know he isn't "just" anything - he's Alex. :happysigh:

Who most certainly does not need a babysitter:

But looks amazing on horseback:

And always looks stunning in blue:

Ah yes he does, all of the above! :clapping: :notworthy:

And how much of a trooper is our guy? Riding a horse on American tv! I know they got cowboys in OZ, but we invented trademarked patented claim and jealously bogart the genre... even tho we now also suck at it. You gotta have cojones to do the cowboy thing in American primetime! Let's hear it for the boy. More :clapping: :clapping:

And thank you, Red, for somehow, SOMEHOW, perceptively picking up on my incredibly subtle shy well disguised glimpse of a hint in the tv thread. You really ARE a mind reader.

I shall now have to come up with more snarky smart ass show synopses... Work work work.

You test my mind-reading skills to the max, honey. TO THE MAX.

You are right on the cowboy thing - and I have not seen a single, solitary complaint among the review and recaps. The man is a phenomenon. :thud: So good in fact, they put a pic in the credits (as mentioned on another thread):
