Pgal! Wonderful!!
Red beat me to it, that last line WAS a kiiler!
Evocative, loving, comfortable and erotic all at the same time!
The whole thing a very succinct summary of their interesting relationship.

Wow. Just lovely.
And that's the best last line you've ever written. Period.

So glad I didn't read this before I posted mine...
Jeeze, you are an AWESOME writer...this is perfect. I adore it.
I especially loved this line:

I especially loved this line:
The 'hrmph' just cracks me up."Hrmph." Mick was only slightly mollified.

Re: An Unexpected Gift - PG-13
Thanks, jen, Jo, kyple!
SBJ, eris, MoonlitRose, Luxe....a word about that last line. I've read (and quite possibly written) fic where Mick is so pathetically grateful for any scrap of affection from Beth that he's like a whupped hound. I'd like to think that Beth is just as grateful that Mick loves her. And...thank you, all of you. Last lines are the worst for me, so I'm glad I got this one right.
And - SBJ - guess I'm finally learned that 'less is more', yes?
fairytoes, coco, janice...thank you. I'm glad you liked it!
LOL, gl...I figured Mick would get his feathers ruffled a bit at Beth's comment. Thanks for reading, sweetheart.

Yep--Read it again, just to make sure it was as brilliant as I thought it was the first time, ok, the first 2 times, but who's counting? My only complaint? Wish it had been a 4 hour challenge, because then there would have been more of this.
That last line is amazing. No doubt that you are a phenomenal writer. NO DOUBT AT ALL.
Ahem. Sorry, sometimes I get a bit carried away.
