Eric Winter - general discussion, news & interviews
Apparently, we had no general discussion thread for Eric.
Let me see if I can make up for it...
Here's a little interview with Eric posted today at TulsaWorld: Interview: Eric Winter, Pt. 1
He had some nice things to say about Moonlight.
DD: After that you were in “Moonlight,” which still has an incredible cult following. How was that show to work on?
EW: That was a fun show too. I would have loved to have the chance to do a lot of the vampiretype stuff and mess around with all the effects but we never got to dive into that part of my character. That was something they were talking about doing the next season and then the show got canceled. So, we never really know what would have happened to my character and ultimately what his motivation was.
DD: Yes, it seems nowadays that networks aren’t giving shows that much of a chance to really develop, grow and build their audience ...
EW: It might not have been a nice hit for the CBS audience but the ones who loved it loved it and I think CBS was ahead of its time on two shows in the same year – and that was “Viva Laughlin” and “Moonlight.

Re: Eric Winter - general discussion, news & interviews
Eric has been cast in a pilot for FOX: Weekends at Bellevue.
According to Dateline Hollywood...
Eric Winter, who has been recurring on CBS' The Mentalist this season, has been cast in Fox's drama pilot Weekends at Bellevue. Based on Julie Holland's memoir, Bellevue centers on Ellie (Lauren Ambrose), the psychiatrist in charge of the weekend shift of Bellevue Hospital's psychiatric unit. Winter, repped by ICM and Brillstein, will play a scruffy and sexy doctor attending in the ER.

I'm picturing him a bit more tousled, but the look definitely works.

Lilly - it says the story has expired!!! Can you recap?
Also, if he's cast in a new pilot, I guess his character in The Mentalist will likely meet and untimely end - too bad for Van Pelt

Re: Eric Winter - general discussion, news & interviews
Thanks, Lilly
Eric sounds like he enjoyed playing the various characters he's been, and has nothing but nice things to say about the people he's worked with. The subplot with his character and Van Pelt in The Mentalist seems almost destined for doom, with Rigsby still carrying the torch for Grace. I hope that if a series of his own is in the cards for Eric, he does well and enjoys it as much as his other roles.

Re: Eric Winter - general discussion, news & interviews
Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Eric has signed for a recurring role on Good Christian Belles.

Also of interest in that article:
Eric also recently shot an independent film, Fire With Fire, opposite Josh Duhamel and Bruce Willis. Go Eric.

Also of interest in that article:
That should be very interesting considering how his last episode ended.Winter had a major recurring role on CBS’ The Mentalist this past season and is may return to the crime procedural for one more episode this fall.
Eric also recently shot an independent film, Fire With Fire, opposite Josh Duhamel and Bruce Willis. Go Eric.

Re: Eric Winter - general discussion, news & interviews
ABC has a microsite up and running for GCB - including a preview:

Kristin Chenoweth.
David James Elliott - whose character is called Ripp Cockburn, I kid you not.
AND Eric?
I am so there.

Talk about a small world...
In the photo at the web site, isn't that the guy who played step Stan in H50? Mark Deklin?
