“WOAH! Slow it down and show me how you did that.”

“Watch closely while the master works. There’s always a back door. You know that. And where do the designers expect a hacker to gain entrance to a protected program?”

“Through the back door.”

“Exactly. So, I prefer to find another route. One less…anticipated. Like this. Did you see what I just did?”

“That is…genius! Logan, you’re friggin’ awesome! I’ve been close to that but missed one little step. Beth said you were good and if anyone could show me how to hack Tarazyne, it would be you.”

“Yes, well. What can I say? I’m a man of many talents.”

“Where’d you learn that?”

“From an old friend of mine. He designed a lot of firewalls and security systems that are widely in use. Let’s just say he shared my curiosity about anything hidden. Getting into places that someone wanted to keep people out of was a specialty.”

“Curiosity killed the cat, you know.”

“Too late.”

“What?”

“Nothing.”

“What are you doing for dinner?”

“Sam, are you asking me out?”

“Yeah. If I wait for you, I’ll be old and grey. You may be a genius with the keyboard, but away from it you’re a little slow. Make that a LOT slow.”

“Well, my plans for dinner are different from yours, but we’ll work something out. Ever played World of Warcraft?”

“I totally own World of Warcraft! You know, this may be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.”

This is great! It's like a mini-rom-com!

Funny and sweet...with some killer lines.

This is great. Those two are designed to be with each other, maybe with Ryder as the awkward buddy next door.

I totally agree.

Sam and Logan would have been a perfect couple. This was just fun to write!

Thank you!

Sam and Logan are very cute together! It's nice for Logan to have someone else in his life, especially someone who shares a few of the same interests. :hearts:

:coffee: WHAT????? He better not be talking about Travis! Mick paid cash that time! :kitten:

Great response to the challenge, Jenna! :rose:

Oh, no! Travis is safe!!!

Sam said, "Curiosity killed the cat, you know." and Logan responded, 'Too late.'

Sorry. I should have been more clear. What Sam said is an old saying meaning that curiosity can be dangerous and get you into trouble sometimes. Logan's response of, 'too late' is a veiled reference to his own Turning, but Sam doesn't know at this point that Logan is a vampire.

Thanks for reading and giving me a chance to explain myself!

:phew: I'm glad that Travis is safe! I'm familiar with that expression, but I thought that Logan was making some sort of a veiled joke about a later meeting with Travis. Luckily, that's not the case. :twothumbs: Now you've got me wondering about Logan's turning... :chin:

Is Sam featured in any of your other pieces, or is she just in this one?

I've personally never read anything with Logan and Sam together (or have forgotten if I did). This is a bit unusual to me as, even though we only saw Sam in one scene, her words were a unknowing reference to Logan (or at least they were to me)

She is hacking into the military database to in an attempt to discover something about Ralph Martan in Sleeping Beauty.

Mick is staring at her while she is working, and she calls him on it.

"Is there a problem?"

"Uh, when Beth told me she knew someone at Buzzwire who could hack the military, I assumed..."

"You thought I was a guy. Overweight, living in his parent's basement, wearing a Tee shirt with a picture of Yoda on it?"

"Mick's kind of old school."

"Yeah."

I think they would be a great couple. Sam was just a bit edgy, and she clearly stood up for herself. She clearly knew her way around a keyboard."

I did read something about Logan's turning, but don't remember by who. I'll see what I can find out...

Thanks for reading and commenting!

Very nice conversation between two kindred souls. I think they could be very good friends, although the fundamental problem (you know, the fact that Logan is overweight, lives in a basement, and probably has a Yoda t-shirt) :winky: is definitely going to be a... well, a problem. But I hope they can work it out. :friends:

There's a wonderful Logan-turn story by librarian_7: Logan's Turn

That's the story I couldn't remember and I have PM'd Marigold with the link.

I think Logan and Sam would have been a great couple.

Thanks for reading and remembering Lucky's story!

Thank you for reading and leaving the comment!!

As both Sam and Logan are such computer experts, it seemed appropriate.

Oh, I missed reading this one! I loved it! :snicker: I could so see these two together. And I loved Logan's little "too late" comment. I wonder if Sam will ever be let into the vampire world?

Thanks!

Thank you so much for reading and commenting!

IMHO, these two should have gotten together. Somehow, I think she would be less resistant to things vampire than most.
