DSR is right - this IS kinda fun. :teeth:

Usual disclaimers apply.

A NEW YEAR

“Come on.”

Mick pulled Beth to her feet, barely giving her a chance to set down her champagne glass.

“Where are we going?”

“To the roof.” Mick smiled. “It’s almost midnight, and the fireworks should be starting soon.”

As the first sparkle lit up the sky, Beth leaned against Mick’s chest. “Any wishes for the new year?”

Mick was quiet for a moment. Decades of New Year’s days had passed, years of wanting something he could never have again. His humanity.

Not this new year.

Cool lips pressed against Beth’s neck. “Everything I could wish for, I have right here.”

Oh, how I love this. No better New Year's Eve than this snippet of Mick and Beth.
My little mind is happily filling in the blanks as to what occurs after this lovely scene.

More hugs and thanks for all of you. :ghug:

As much as I hate it, I'm a mushy romantic at heart, and I just love Mick and Beth together. I'm pretty sure it's not always easy for the two of them, but I love to give them happy moments. :cloud9:

Heartwarming. A complex emotion expressed simply. Loved it.
