I understand more than he thinks I do.

In my early days of knowing what Mick was, the positives dazzled and beckoned, but first impressions rarely tell you everything. Later, I came to understand the polar shift that occurs when one is Turned.

Mick told me most of it, so why does he think I don’t know--because I haven’t experienced it?

He still doesn’t get it, but what touches him, touches me right now. That’s what love is, Babe. In a sense, I’m already there.

He still doesn’t get it, but what touches him, touches me right now.

Beth really does get it. Maybe someday, Mick will as well.

In your answer to this challenge, Janus, you showcased beautifully the two sides to Mick's nature. If he ever finds a way to bring these two sides together, I think they will be okay. Personally, I think Beth could be key to this and I really hope he manages to get get beyond his internal gridlock!

I agree. Beth sees a lot, Mick tells her a lot more and she is an intelligent woman who can figure out even more on her own.

I really think Beth is smart enought to figure a lot of this out. I wish Mick would give her a little more credit.

Beth is smart, independent, and determined. She may not have lived as a vampire, but I agree that she understands enough about vampirism to make an informed opinion. She has met a few different vampires, and has seen how they approach their lives.

Now all Beth has to do is convince Mick that she does "get it." That could be a challenge.

Beth is a modern woman and a bit perplexed, I think, by Mick's attitude. She isn't used to it. I don't think she would put up with it if she didn't love him so. I like to think that in time, Mick would come to accept that she really did understand him better than he thought she did.

Beth is totally onboard with "it" Mick does need to understand what his lady love wants.

We followed Beth's mental journey as she moved from that initial 'dazzled and beckoned' stage to start to hear Mick's 'anti vampire' rhetoric and I think she was moving toward making an informed decision about following her heart and joining Mick.
