I really liked how he looked in this ep...
There was something different to it.
Cannot put my finger on it, but something is different...

Grace--I kinda felt the same way. This may sound off topic, since I'm going to reference H5-0, but my intent is to describe how the intersection of having a hit show and knowing your character inside and out can transfer to how one looks and moves.
I think that he has so grown into this role that his confidence not only informs his portrayal, but it gives him a bit of a different vibe. Plus, this episode focussed on who Steve was---a Seal. Alex probably inhabited that bit even more, knowing that this episode revolved around past experiences that his character knew so well.
He always looks beautiful, but there was an extra something of 'I know this stuff, this is my wheelhouse' kind of thing, that added an extra zing of special to not just his portrayal, but how he moved and looked during the episode. Something in his eyes that made him seem just more. Maybe a little bit of swagger.
I hope this makes some sense. It's one of those things that is hard to get from my head to the computer and might have lost something in the translation!

I've always felt that Steve moves much differently than, say, Mick. Yet, they are the same physical person. Occasionally, there are movements that remind you of the other character but, in general, they are very different. I expect as time goes on, that will become more pronounced. As you said, Alex knows Steve better and better.

Nodding to both posts... I think y'all are getting to something.
And yes, Rhonda, he moves, expresses, and emotes way different to Mick. How he manages to do that, as you say inside the same physical person, would be THE question I would ask him, if anyone were ever to invite me to ask him a question.

Must...not...poke at...Fleur...
And...I couldn't resist. I had to leave a comment. I am damn tired of those "Alex has no talent" comments.

I appreciate your restraint, hon, but it's unnecessary!
I cant believe I'm outing myself yet again, but you know that pic of Alex and DDK with the beer bottles? Wellllllll, I only noticed the one on the table. For a really long time. All the comments I made about the beer? Yep, never noticed the one in his hand
It's like the dude has some sort of force field where I cant see anything other than HIM, unless the objects are more than a foot away.
WTH is wrong with me?
