I love how you added in period details, such as this one. They really help to make the story complete.

There are many ways to see that certain fics have been appreciated.

One of them is to count the number of pages in the comments.

I'm not saying that there are not some absolutely stellar fics out there that remain undiscovered gems, but when there are four or more pages of comments, that really says something.

Fabulous, fabulous fic--Mick finds his Fortress of Style, gets his more important, life changing case, and is definitely moving up in the world.

There are important meetings when Moonlight characters first encountered each other. The first one we generally think of is when Mick and Beth met again at the fountain, or when Mick and Baby Beth met after Coraline kidnapped her. We also think of Josef and Sarah Whitley at that train station in New York.

Lives changed forever, whether they changed immediately or not.

In this delightfully snarky story PNWgal shows us another important meeting between characters, when Mick first laid eyes on the Fortress of Style. Set just before Mick was drawn into the search for the kidnapped Baby Beth, it sets the stage beautifully for what is coming next.

Fabulous!!!! If the writers on the show had thought of this we surely would have seen it on screen--its that good!!!

Okay, so I've now left the last three comments on this fic but it definitely deserves to be bumped up again!

This is wonderful! This was a monumental day for Mick (1) first, he gets a new office and new apartment! The fortress of style was designed with Mick in mind with someone who knows how (Josef, of course); (2) Mick is about to meet Baby Beth, and embark on his journey back toward humanity. He may still be a vampire, but he is about to find himself again; and (3) Josef yet again proves to be a wonderful friend--the kind who looks out for you when you aren't expecting it.

I've always loved that relationship between Mick and Josef, that deep bond of friendship they share, and I'm happy that's conveyed through this one-shot.
