Sweet, brief look at the two relationships I loved best about Moonlight: Mick and Beth (clearly), and Mick and Josef. I enjoyed their initial repartee and Beth's presence without saying a word. And I love how you've made the dusk both an ending and a beginning. Lovely work!

Absolutely fabulous. The dialogue is spot on. Perfect banter between them. It read like I was watching a little snippet from the TV show itself.

What a very lovely moment here at dusk. As always, I love your Josef .... four hundred years on, and he still finds so much joy in life, in these simple daily things. (And no doubt giving Mick a bit of a hard time is a continual source of joy for him, too!) On to the next one .....

Ahh, Red -- I let your Divine Series get away from me and never came back to find the last 2, or rather 3 parts -- until now!

What a lovely, lovely image for the end of the day, yet the beginning of the night. I too enjoy the fact that Josef still finds life fascinating after his 4 centuries of hanging around, and I can't help but think that Mick is a large part of his renewed interest. Until he loses his audience to the sun in his friend's world, that is. Delicious reading, Red. Thank you!

How lovely!

Here is Josef, forged by the trauma of his past and very much in his element.

I must agree with Eris and GuardianAngel about the last line feeling a bit ominous, but in life there are up and downs and there was relative peace here.

Thank you!

Jenna

I love that so many of you found the last line ominous - I guess, in hindsight, it could be taken that way. I just meant that our gang are always getting themselves in some scrape or other so they should enjoy the brief respite while they get the chance. :giggle:

Thanks for the re-read, jen.

Now, how is it that I never commented on this one?? :slaphead:

Short, but so lovely and sweet. :hearts:
redwinter101 wrote:Mick's soft laugh subsided and silence fell as the door closed, Josef's vibrant hum lingering. Beth pulled him into her arms as the soft lights glowed to life; another day over, another night beginning, each player in their allotted role.

In this brief, precious moment, all was right with the world.
I love the end of this. Beth holds the promise of the day, the things seen clearly in the light. Love, hope, normalcy, human. Josef is the cool comfort of the night, a friend but edgy and dangerous. Mick is the bridge between the two, one foot in the light, one in the dark, two circles surround him, and he completes both of them.

VERY nice.
