I marvel how in so few words, you can convey so much, so beautifully. :rose: Thank you for a touching view of a man at peace with himself.

Able to embrace the true meaning of what Thanksgiving is really supposed to be. I guess that when the huge feast is removed from the equation, the sentiment is the real basis of the day. And oh, you've captured it beautifully.
Alle -- that's a perfect way to look at this -- being thankful for what you do have. And with Beth he doesn't need to look for anything more. The meal is just an added bonus, but he can be just as grateful without it.

And yes, Red, you captured it beautifully as you always do.

Thanks, ML (and again, alle  ). I think finding Beth, having that love in his life, is more than enough for Mick on a day of thanks.

What came first, the chicken or the egg?

Does Mick's love of Beth come first or his love of humanity.

They are so intertwined and this is so very lovely. He is recapturing so much he lost thru Beth.

Happy sigh.

Thanks!

Mmm, good question. I think Mick never stopped feeling human. Even when he was, in his own words" a monster", I think there would have been a longing there - a memory of the joys of humanity. I think that's one of the (many) things I love about Mick: he loves life; he yearns for redemption; he wants MORE, even as he feels that maybe he doesn't deserve it. And that's why I believe in his relationship with Beth - because it holds out the possibility of a future that is full of life.
