1992 Blast From The Past Forgiveness Series PG

Post by cassysj »

This story will not make sense unless you have read Diane The Donor viewtopic.php?f=625&t=4143

I do not own any recognizable characters no copyright infringement is intended.

"Anne I’d like to ask your advice on something.

"Of course Charles. What is it?

"As you know Sarah and I are hiring new donors.

"Yes. I’ve seen the stream of girls come up the driveway."

He handed her an 8x10 glossy. "What do you think of this girl?

"Charles I don’t know what you’re looking for in a …… This girl looks familiar. Very familiar. Debbie, Donna?"

"Diane. Sarah’s first donor. It’s her daughter." Charles said softly

"She looks so much like her mother. Anne said.

"I know. Diane called me. Her daughter wants to go to law school. Two years as an exclusive would pay for that in full. I interviewed her today. She’s a sweet girl, knows the rules. A negative like her mother. But it was so hard for Sarah to let go of Diane I’m afraid of the same thing happening."

"That was twenty-five years ago Charles. Sarah has gone through how many donors since then.

"Over thirty exclusives and almost a hundred freelance. Charles said. "But Diane was special.

"What’s the girl’s name?

"Charlene Sarah Weston

"Diane didn’t leave you and Sarah behind either did she? Anne asked

"No. Do you think Sarah can handle it? "

"Probably. Anne said but if you’re not sure why hire her?"

"As a favor to Diane. Sarah and I used a lot of years of her life I’d pay for her daughter’s education anyway if she asked but she didn’t. " Charles said.

"I remember the craziness when Diane was leaving. Anne said. "She didn’t want to go, Sarah didn’t want her to go. Everyone was hysterical".

"Charlene definitely looks at this as a business relationship. I’m not worried about her getting attached. She’s even done a little freelance work. "

"Charles let me talk to Sarah. I think she can deal with it but it has to be presented the right way."

Charles smiled "I’d really appreciate it Anne."

Anne knocked on Sarah’s bedroom.

"Come in. Hi Mother.

"Sarah you have to talk to Charles. He’s being so mean."

Sarah was surprised. Her mother adored Charles "What’s he doing?

"One of the girls he’s interviewing is a legacy."

"Mother only you could refer to donors in sorority terms."

"Well it is like a sorority.

"Okay, so who’s this girl’s mother, aunt, sister?

"Charles doesn’t want to hire her because she’s too much like her mother."

"Did he have to fire her mother for a behavior issue? Sarah asked

"No. She was a long term donor.

"Well that doesn't make any sense. I’ll interview her myself What’s her name?"

"Charlene Weston."

Sarah laughed. "Another one named after Charles. You have no idea how many babies are named after him. Who’s daughter is she?

"Diane something." Anne mumbled

"Diane Jenkins?" Sarah asked

"I don’t know her last name.

"That was my first donor."

"Charles is worried you’ll get too attached.

"I loved Diane. I’ve cared for my donors since but none as much as her."

"Charlene wants to go to law school." Anne said

"She’s ambitious. Diane never really had goals." Sarah said sadly.

"She looks a lot like her. Charles showed me a picture."

"Does Diane know what her daughter wants to do? Sarah asked.

"Yes, she set up the interview.

"Then I have to be able to do it. Sarah said firmly "Diane was a good friend to me and I should have made it easier for her to leave and I didn't. I have to admit Mother. If I had just seen this girl or her photo I’d have gone right back to the past. But being prepared for it, I’m going to tell Charles to let me interview her to see if we get along."

That's my girl. Anne said proudly.

"Mother did Charles send you up here to "handle" me?

"Sarah that's ridiculous. I couldn't handle you before you were a vampire what makes him think I could handle you now."

Sarah laughed. "You "handle" me and Charles every day.

Anne smiled "I have no idea what you are talking about young lady.

Aww - how sweet that Diane's daughter wants to be an exclusive - but knows the rules of the game & has a life plan. A much better situation than the one with (I think) Blair... :snicker:

And of course Anne can handle Sarah - she's her mother <GRIN>

I just love all these alternate looks at the life Charles & Sarah could have had...

I thought it might be interesting to see Charles "worry" about Sarah a little and not sure if she could dela with something.

I love doing these Charles/Sarah/Anne stories.

Charlene will do better than her mom, she's prepared for what will be. And Sarah - her mother knows exactly how to treat her. Charles is caught in the middle, but he knows when to leave the field to the experts.
