As always, thanks everyone for the comments.

gl, I'm sure eris had no intent of "spoiling" the ending. And there is a lot yet to come. Promise!

Just love this so much. I always give a little happy squeal when I see a new chapter has been posted :cheering:

Everyone else has said it all so well, but I also wanted to add my appreciation for the "creature of whim" line. So Josef :snicker:

Good to see Slade coming around and I'm just getting a bit giddy about what's to happen come nightfall.

I love this story. Everything about it -- from the rich narrative to the vivid original characters. I've been in the minority in the past, but I've always liked Slade -- from his all too brief appearance at the end of 100% Freshie to his more dominant presence in La Posada. He could be an arrogant SOB, a bit of a hard-a-- um, I mean difficult character. But there was always a definite magnetism to him. I'm so glad you decided to take us back to his roots to a time when he wasn't quite so arrogant and self-assured. :happysigh:

I would have loved to seen this story shot and produced. I can see the characters and each voice is believable. Not to mention the thought of seeing Josef dressed as a dandy is intriguing. I am so not a "Western" fan and yet here I am slurping up each and every word just like they were candy. You have done a wonderful job Lucky, I am just dying to know how you will resolve this ending. Thank you again for a wonderful chapter.

Slade has a redeeming quality in this story. I would like to know more about how he and Josef get to their future relationship. The colonel sounds like too many self-proclaimed messiah's in history and even on last night's news. They have to be stopped. Let's see how you pull this one off. Penina

I am working on chapter 8...but I keep getting distracted by other stories.

I will try to get back to it soon, I promise.

Lucky,
How do you do it?
Keeping Dust and all your other fabulous stories going is such a feat!
You must certainly burn the candle at both ends just to cope with our constant wish for more.
I feel a little guilty. So I'm sending many thanks for all your hard work.

Thanks, coco...I know I'm being a bit slow updating on this...I got tied up writing this other story...well, you know how that goes.

But I'm turning my attention back to Josef and Sally, and Slade!

I love this story and am glad to hear you are again working on this story. I know we are a greedy little bunch here, but your stories are so terrific you have to forgive us for making you work so hard. Thank you Liz, I'd send flowers if I could. :champs: :kostan:
