Actually it's all just silly innuendo... Tho we are all fascinated by all facets of Mick. Alex will be hard-pressed to find a character in the future-- tho Bob willing Andy is the immediate future for many years to come-- who fascinates the way Mick does. Tho then again, had some other actor played Mick, would we all be here on this board now????? Those two, Alex and Mick, were clearly made for one another...

Yeah, if Henry Thomas HAD been cast as Mick, which almost happened, I doubt any of us would be hanging on a ML board anymore or I even doubt the series would have made it past 4 or so episodes. JMHO.

The Mick St. John character is endlessly fascinating as any wounded soul types are, but without Alex inhabiting that character and bringing it to life, I'm not sure I would have even tuned in more than once or twice.

I did not know this. I'm so very glad we got Alex instead.

I think it was Trevor who revealed that bit of information. It came down to Alex and Henry in the casting. I think it was Ron Koslow who saw Alex the first time and stated that this was their Mick. It took a few auditions for the rest of the producers to come around to his way of thinking.....and thank heavens they did, huh?

Henry Thomas was indeed adorable as all get out in ET, but that was 1982 and the kid was 10 or so and cute as a button. Fast forward 25 years and good ol' Henry ain't so cute and or adorable anymore. Might be a lovely person, but I like my vampires cool, sexy and charismatic, thank you very much.

I really think it wouldn't have seen the light of day with Henry Thomas. Not to knock the guy, but when what bit of trivia came out, someone did a side-by-side pic comparison and there are just no sexy vamp quality there.

I am SO grateful that Ron and Trevor prevailed in this one. I just can't imagine Mick and ML without Alex
Ron actually decided that Alex was their guy from day one. I guess having 30 years of experience in the business helps.

And I had no clue who jason patrick was; I had to google the name.

Henry Thomas wouldn't have impressed. Jason Patric would have bored everyone to tears (Speed 2 anyone?). Thank heavens that JS was overruled on this one.
