I just read this again and must echo previous posts in that it is every bit as good the second time!!

And Allegrita, your comment was absolutely perfect. You put into words what, I'm guessing, many of us were thinking but can't put into words as well as either of you.

Thank you!

jen, I'm so sorry, I missed your comment. Thanks so much for coming back for a re-read - I love that you did, and that the story stood up second time around.

Just discovered this when browsing in active topics--and it is fantastic, Red. :clapping:

You perfectly and beautifully captured...well, everything. I loved how she said he thought he was showing her the monster, but in reality he was showing her the man. SO true.

Again, :clapping:

I am once again in awe of one of your stories. This is so touching and beautiful. Beth is so clear in her understanding of that first night, and so right in that it showed she could be as powerful in the relationship as Mick - an equality of sorts was born between them, something so important in any relationship. Mick himself may never feel good about that particular event, but by the end of this story he finally understands why Beth feels so differently, and is able to acknowledge the goodness that came from it (in terms of their relationship) with the words, "Mine. Like this."

Julie, Lupine, thank you both so much. Sophia and Alex did so much wonderful work in Moonlight but I don't think they were ever better than in the bathroom scene in Fever. Every single time I watch it I am utterly captivated. It's just so beautiful.

Wow, another fantastic one-shot, Red. And this one filled with so much love and acceptance on both their parts -- one already fully there and one just getting there, but getting there nonetheless. And Alle -- your comment was spot on. So profoundly stated, I can only whole-heartedly agree 100%!

beautiful story. It deserves many re-readings. Your story is the essense of Moonlight for me. Also, any story about a motel, Mick and Beth has my attention!

In this reread (and there will be many), it struck me that Five Star is very appropriate in more ways than just the elegant hotel they are in during this fic.

Beth is being very perceptive here. She loves, and for that love she is willing to navigate the landmines of their relationship and sometimes fight Mick's demons in the process, but she is entirely up to the challenge here.

Beautifully written (of course--way to give a gal a complex)

:giggle: Thanks, jen - I do love a snappy title...

And ITA - Beth is totally up for the challenge (hence my ongoing irk about Sonata, but that's another story).

Superb!

Slowly, Mick is opening up to Beth, yet his suprise at her unconditional acceptance is still a surprise, and I sense that his adoration of hier is a bit of a surprise to Beth, as well.

Thank you!

Jenna
