I just re-watched it and I'm starting to salivate about the next season. Hmmm... I want to go find the last few eps of Season 1 so I can remind myself where we are!

Here's an extended interview with Brad Wright (co-creator/writer/exec producer), ahead of the season premiere, Tuesday 28th on SyFy:

David will be participating in a live chat during the east coast airing of tonight's episode - here: http://www.syfy.com/connect/universe.php

Darn! I have a regular meeting on Tuesdays and will have to watch the late showing. I'd love to hear what David has to say.

I really enjoyed the season premiere - and I'm relieved that the siege storyline has been concluded and we can move on into the new season.

However, the ratings are out and although I don't have a basis for comparison, they are being categorised as "disappointing" on most of the ratings sites:
Stargate Universe (9pm)
- 1.175 million viewers
- 0.8/1 HH
- 0.5/1 A18-49

I was a bit disappointed. I was hoping for more Eli. And I did prefer it being on Friday night.

But I will keep watching to support David!

I have to confess that it didn't hold my interest very well last night. I was tired, and there were things going on in the room that kept my attention, but I'm a bit disappointed. I hope it gets more riveting.

Tonight's episode was well worth a look because it's Eli's episode!! It'll be on http://www.syfy.com tomorrow I'm sure.

David had some stunningly good scenes where Eli, who's in someone else's body, tries to convince his mother that she needs to try to get well. My heart was breaking for Eli and then rejoicing for him.

On the other hand, the main storyline continues to be weak in my opinion.

It may be too late to tell you this, but the general story line has definitely picked up. I couldn't believe where they ended last night's episode which I understand is the midseason finale. The rest of the season is supposed to air "in the spring".

In the last five episodes, David has gotten to play a variety of emotions that I've never seen from him before. And his hair is definitely getting longer (true of everybody on board; they are getting a bit "Robinson Crusoe"). I have a feeling Eli will either totally lose it or somehow get through all his angst to be a hero - but it isn't at all clear which way he's gonna go.

My only complaint is that I'd like to see more of David.

I'm very sad to report that Stargate Universe has been canceled by SyFy. :sigh:

Here's the article from Deadline Hollywood: http://www.deadline.com/2010/12/syfy-ca ... -universe/

I really didn't see that coming. I guess the cost outweighed the level of interest. Damn. It was really starting to get good. :Mickangel:

I was afraid of this... it just didn't get the audience it deserved. I wish they hadn't split up the seasons the way they did. Both SGU and Caprica never really recovered after those long breaks.

I'm so sorry for David and the rest... they worked so hard, and they were telling a really good story. :sigh:
