One-handed for a while

Hi everyone,
Just FYI, I'm going to have surgery (finally!) on Wednesday, to fix the pinky finger on my left hand, so I'll be typing one-handed for a few weeks. I will be around, and posting, but it'll be short and sweet for a bit!
Long story short, I have a weird connective tissue disorder called Dupuytrens Contracture, which has caused my left little finger to get progressively more bent, till now it is at more than a 90-degree angle. Hopefully, this surgery will give me full use of my hand again, because currently it is a real hassle.
Love,
Allegrita

I hope the surgery goes very well indeed!
The typing will likely be a tad annoying.
I had to type one handed for a couple weeks after an injury and I was quite a grump about it.

Thank you both for your good wishes!

I'm making the most of having two hands while I can.

All done!

Everyone at the surgery center was lovely.
I got home around 4:30 this afternoon, had yummy leftover broccoli shrimp, and slept till 8:30 or so. I feel much more like myself now. My pinky is numb, and my ring finger is partially numb, which may be irksome later on, but is kinda nice right now, because it is masking some of the pain. It's also nice that my thumb and first 2 fingers are not bandaged, because I can kinda wiggle them and use them to prop my phone up, etc.
This bandage is kind of a half-cast, curving around the pinky and ring finger and that edge of my hand to the wrist, so it protects the ouchy bits of my hand. That makes me feel safer, like I won't bang my stitches against anything by accident.
Mr. A is taking wonderful care of me, bless him.

That's just great! It sounds as if the surgery went as well as it could possibly go. You are a tough cookie for posting about it already! Hopefully the painful part will pass very quickly.

I posted some before and after pics on Facebook, if anybody's interested. They're public, so you don't need a Facebook account to see them.

Thanks, friends!

It's been a little over a week since my surgery, and I'm feeling quite a bit better. It's frustrating to have this big, ungainly bandage on my hand, though! I get my stitches out next Thursday, and after that the bandages should be much smaller and less annoying. And I'll be allowed to drive again!
I'm really curious to see what my incisions look like! I can tell from the ouch factor that there are incisions on my palm and on my pinky finger, but I don't know how extensive they are. Am I weird for wanting to see them?
Ive been trying to go for walks every day since last weekend, partly because I'm bored just hanging around the house, and partly because I don't want to get weak from lolling around. Mr. A has been taking wonderful care of me, bless him.

I still get tired, and I've been taking long naps every afternoon. But I feel a little better every day.
Thank you for your good thoughts! I appreciate it very much.

I'm getting my stitches out tomorrow!

This has been a very long two weeks.
I'll let you know what I learn at my appointment.
