Hi everyone,

As a protective measure, to preserve our creative work's privacy and (hopefully) to reduce the impact of the zillions of scraper bots that have been inundating our forum lately, we have made the Library and the Studio (where fan videos and fan art are located) invisible to bots and guests. You now have to be logged in to see these forums.

Much of the board has always been invisible to people who aren't logged in. But when Phoenix created the board, she felt it was important to keep parts of the forum visible to people who weren't logged in, especially the non-racy fic in the Library. This was partly so that Moonlight fans would be better able to find us. But after all these years, there aren't too many Moonlight fans around who don't know about us already. And with the advent of data-scraper bots that crawl websites and copy their data, we feel it is necessary to protect the privacy of our creative work. And since the "guests" (a.k.a. web crawler bots) can no longer see those forums, we hope they will be less intrusive.

Thanks for your understanding while we've been so swamped. We're hopeful that these changes will help fix that issue!

It seems to be working! There were well over 2000 guests last night when we looked and right now there are only 105.

Response time is back to normal as well. Let's hope this does the trick!

Yeah, they were hitting the library hard. My stories now have tens of thousands of views. One has over 145,000.

Out of curiosity, I checked my office. Several with views into 5 digits. My highest is 68,204.

Whoa. All About Mick #33 has 403369 views. (And he deserves every one. )

I guess we could say the bot has good taste...

It told all its bot friends about him, and they told their friends... no wonder we got so many bot visitors!

My most read by the bots is I hate LA in the Springtime with over 62,000 The bots didn't seem to hit any of my R rated stuff. I guess they want PG-13

Lol! The R offices were always invisible to guests. Phoenix set us up that way.
