Coming into a series cold is hard. The show seemed very melodramatic and I bet it wouldn't have had I been there for the full ride.
Why won't someone give Jason a show?

Nah, it's been melodramatic from the get-go.
And no kidding! He could be awesome as a lead.

Some pics of Jason in this role--
I liked his work in this episode. I mean, from the minute he comes on screen, you're going, "there's something not quite right about this guy." I even wondered if he were just a disguise Lucifer had put on, because he definitely seemed just wrong. (I wanted to smack the preacher character he was tempting, for even listening to him at all!) And yet, we learn later that he's not simply evil, but fighting to protect his family. I'm guessing that Jason didn't have to reach far to come up with his characterization there!
It'll be interesting to see how the character progresses with the next few episodes. Of course, he won't pop back up for several episodes, but I can wait.

It's nice to have some Jason to look forward to.

Thanks for the pics, Lucky.
Yes! This! I love that he can do that with just a few words.librarian_7 wrote: I mean, from the minute he comes on screen, you're going, "there's something not quite right about this guy."

Re: Jason in "The Messengers" (CW)
Well, I finished up the series. In episode 12, there's a very brief (but shocking!) scene for him near the end. And in Ep. 13, he has one very intense scene. I'd be willing to bet it was either supposed to be longer riginally, or there should have been a follow-up scene.
The tiny amount he had to do in this seies was very well done, but I sure had to suffer through a lot of dreck to get to those few nuggets.
I hope The Originals does better by him.
