Remember when they took down the wonderful 6th Street Bridge, which was featured in a gorgeous dawn time-lapse in Out of the Past? (See this post: http://www.moonlightaholics.com/viewtop ... 58#p340658) Well, here is a computer-generated "flyover" of the bridge that will replace it. It's scheduled to be completed in 2020. https://la.curbed.com/2017/8/3/16090346 ... ings-video

Do you think Mick will approve? :brow:

alle - Do people want to walk by it? The railroad yards and the canals don't really say "afternoon stroll" to me but I've never been by it.

I honestly don't know the answer to your question. It seems like the train tracks would be very loud. Mr. A. and I both thought those green areas would just turn into camps for homeless people rather than being desirable urban parks, but you never know!

I find it odd that they made corkscrew like walking paths to go from ground level up to the bridge. Why? Do people really want to walk up and out onto a "car" bridge? I guess if you're riding your bike into work across the bridge and need access to those buildings below near the bridge it makes some kind of sense.

As with anything new there is some melancholy Mick would feel seeing the old bridge and it's character change. :sigh: Yeah, you could say I'm an old soul 'cause I like the old look better. :winky:

Does anyone know if the parking structure is still there? I thought they were planning on tarring it down awhile back. :chin: :sigh:

I love the LA Curbed website. It has so many interesting things about Los Angeles! :hearts: For example: here's an article with photographs of Los Angeles taken by Ansel Adams (the amazing photographer most famous for his photos of Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada mountains) in the 1940's. https://la.curbed.com/2018/2/20/1703245 ... les-photos

Can you picture a young Mick St. John in these scenes? I sure can...

Love these pics Alle. :rose:

I sure can picture Mick walking the streets before he was turned. Then imagining where he may have been keeping "just out of sight" after. :Mickangel:
