Eeeekkk!! A bit to catch up on. OK. We could tour construction sites, but you need to know that I was referring to farmers, before - not construction workers - since I grew up in the country. About 20 yrs ago, (now I feel old), I used to walk past a major construction site in a city, and there were about forty-dozen workers who apparently just stood around waiting for women to walk past. One - with a really broad Aussie accent - used to propose to me from the sixth or seventh floor. (He used to propose marriage; the others proposed quite different things!)
So how many are there in the tour group now? Do I need to hire a mini-bus? BTW, at this time of the year, and in my part of Oz, the best place to find Alex-types would be at the beach, surfing. Or in the park, playing cricket. Or in a bar, drinking beer.
Yeah, Kel, move DownUnder.

We have a couple of world-class universities here (in my state).
Have I missed anyone?

Well truth be told, as word leaks out, I'm guessing the party will grow... but everyone has to bring their own sunscreen, so no worries. But yeah, a bus would be prudent...
Ok, so we'll take a day trip to a farm... we're easy... to please I mean... and we're totally prepared for the beaches, parks, and bars... that part's a given...
And do you know how cool that sentence is that you wrote..."...the best place to find Alex-types would be..."
In my town? There is no best place to find Alex types... there's not a prayer.

Seriously...I would love to attend an Aussie university...but my mom would freak. She wants me to stay close to home. Ah well, she's clingy, but I love her.

Please bring a hat, water bottle, and industrial quantities of sunscreen.
Grace honey, you can't get to a serious working farm in a day trip from here. Some of the paddocks in a good size farm can run to a hundred acres. It could be a five hour drive from the border of the property to the house. A light plane would be the best idea.
I could put notices up around town to announce the imminent arrival of hot foreign women who are seeking to meet hot Aussie guys. That should attract plenty of attention. (We don't sound any better to them than they do to us!)

If I was your mom, I wouldn't want you to move so far from home, either.

Sweet as Alex is, if I wanna hear that accent - in a deep voice - I can go and chat with my neighbour.

But most American accents, some English, some Scottish, and French

well -
swoon.
Eye de mi! Everyone wants an import!

Honestly, I wouldn't want to move away from her either. She's my best friend. Wouldn't mind a couple of weeks in Oz, though

Well ... the main form of culture in this country is the kind you find in yogurt

but the natives are friendly (for the most part) and some parts of the country are breathtakingly beautiful.
Note to self: forget the mini-bus - hire regular size bus.

Phee~~you do recall that I was one of the first to hop on the Aussie bus?
Just making sure that you got my reservation.
And kel, I can sub for your mom. I can sacrifice at least that much: going to OZ and meeting hot men, yeah, I can help out with that.

Meant to note... if the farm idea doesn't pan out... we can go back to mwj's original construction site plan... either/or... we're not CHOOSY about where we find the ALex look-and-sound alikes... which I don't know if that makes us more or less attractive, but eh...

hehe...thanks, Lisa...yeah, I don't think my mom would do that much. She'd be like "Where did I go wrong?"
