I think it's two separate jackets. He wore the same jacket in NSTAV, Fever, and LLF: it's a Hause of Howe "Bobby Frock" jacket. (MyImmortal found this info--and owns one of that jacket, too, lucky woman.) It has no epaulets. The one with epaulets may very well be another Howe jacket. He had at least two, maybe 3 Howe jackets. I'm pretty sure the jacket he wore to San Diego ComicCon was a Howe. They frequently have interesting touches, like that pocket in the back, and embroidery.

Yeah that smile after the kiss was adorable, but I did always wonder how the keys fell so far under the car - all the better to stretch out those long arms to retrieve them

Yup...and walking his fingertips across the asphalt toward the keys...very cute, but so unrealistic. But do you see me complaining? Uh-uh, you do NOT see me complaining.
