My hubby told me that he'll watch it with me on DVD. "Because I
know you'll be buying it as soon as it comes out.

Maybe this WILL turn into the perfect date movie... something for everybody and all...
Alle... Mr. Alle won't go to the theater? You can tell him your friends' husbands are going...

Do you REALLY have to confess EVERY niggling detail????
Mr. Grace and Mr. Pgal are going... go with that, Sweetie Pie! Tell him it doesn't have to be on opening night!

So the reviews are starting to come in...
THR - average to positive:

Meanwhile Variety is not impressed - although the closing line indicates the reviewer liked Alex (even though I didn't really get that vibe from the rest of the article):

Hmm. Well...it is what it is, you know? I guess we'll see what actual humans (as opposed to reviewers) think of it. I know that one of the SoCal Freshies was disappointed in it when she attended a screening. I am not expecting great art. I'm expecting about what they say it is--kind of a Hallmark movie type thing, done cute, with good chemistry and a great cast. So... what's not to like?

OnlineJLofan.com have an exclusive interview (from the recent press day) with director, Alan Poul. He talks about casting Alex, J Lo's talent for comedy and the perils of shooting in New York, among other things. A really good read.

In the vein of other spousal reactions...I'd told Mr. Lucky some time ago that I didn't think he'd want to see BUP in the theatre, as he is extraordinarily squeamish about childbirth scenes. I've known him to leave the room, looking green around the gills, for the mildest of such stuff on tv. So...I mentioned that I didn't think he'd find the film entertaining. The other night, we're watching Daily Show, and a BUP promo comes on. I squee'd a bit...he asked why.
"Well, that's Alex's new movie."
"Oh, right, now which one is he?"
"You know, MICK."
*further confusion on his part omitted here...you'd think since there's an autographed photo of Jason hanging in plain view in the hallway, which he has to look at every time he adjusts the thermostat, he'd have Alex and Jason sorted out by now...but apparently not.*
He says, "Would you like to go to the movie with me?"
"I don't think you'd like it."
"It's a romantic comedy, right?"
"Yes."
"Would you like to go to the movie with me?"
"Sure...but there are scenes..."
"That's what the lobby is for. Or, I can shut my eyes."
"Okay, sure."
"And isn't that actress sort of a big name?"
"J-Lo? Yup."
"What's he doing in a movie with a big name like her?"
"Racheting up his career a big notch, we hope."
"Oh. Okay."
Anyone want to bet if he asks me if it's started yet, this weekend?

Lucky,
Even if he doesn't ask, my guess you'll be 'encouraged' to see it the first day it's out.....as if you needed any encouragement.
