That was beautiful!! And so sad! :hankie:
Though Sonata made me strongly believe that turning might have been in the future of MickBeth, if we got S2, still this story is true to Mick. All vamps die someday, so this story rings true to me anyway, even if turned Beth died, I believe Mick wouldn't want to continue his existence without her (like Jackson chose to go with Emma)... so mortal or immortal Beth - doesn't really matter, their ending would be the same, IMHO.
You made me cry... again!... Red, write something happy, please!! :rose:

P.S.: Just wanted to share this beautiful song...
Two cover versions of "I will follow you into the dark" by Death Cab For Cutie, both beautiful!
Enjoy!

OZ, Josef is almost an unintended victim here - just as Mick has lost Beth, so Josef must lose his friend. I firmly believe he'll forgive, as I said here - but he'll be alone again. :sigh:

You are such a poet. I was going to highlight portions, but it would have been the entire piece. Musical indeed, but very much in a minor key.
A minor chord, redolent with melancholy; this was our melody played out across time and space, a constant reminder there is no joy so great as one that seemed impossible. We both knew it, felt it, pushed it away, accepted it. We were never meant to be. But we were. And now, alone, I finally understand the meaning of a lifetime.
Heartbreakingly sad, but very, very lovely.

I do however, agree with Alle. Beth is going kick his ass.

I have learned an important lesson here.

ALWAYS read the prolog warnings.

Oh, jen, :comfort: :comfort: :comfort: I always try to warn as well as I can without giving the game away. Sorry if this caught you by surprise.

Late again!
Red, this was beautiful.
Was it sad?
Yes, on some levels. But there is lots of love.
And huge amounts of hope.
And if I go with my interpretation of the ending, hope realised.
Josef left alone, now that's sad....
Poor Josef....

Aw, thanks, AussieJo. Late or not, you're always very, very welcome. :smooch:

As for the ending - hope not realised - yet. But the possibility is there that Mick and Beth will be together again after death.

Just stopping by for a reread, thanks to the recommendations thread.

It makes me cry to think of a world without Mick in it. :Mickangel: But it feels so very true to him...

So I popped in for a re-read.

Still powerful. Still beautiful. And I'm still teary-eyed. :smooch:

Geez, Red, I'm so sad for Mick, for Josef ... for me! But I can honestly see this version of Mick's life happeneing because like everyone has stated, I just don't see him going on without Beth, and like any spouse who has lost their partner after years together, it is their great hope to be reunited in death in the ever after. I hope he gets his wish. But still, poor Josef. :hankie: dammit.

Alle, thanks for the chuckle after reading such a heartbreaker.

Thanks, Moonlighter. I can see Mick going on without Beth - but for this story at this time, this ending felt right.
