I hope it continues - at the moment Alex couldn't get arrested here - and then maybe, finally, some of my friends will understand who I'm talking about (and talking and talking and talking...).

Oh I know the feeling, Red. I'm having such a hard time convincing my friends why I desperately want to go see a JLo movie.

I got my best friend hooked on Moonlight but she doesn't see Mick when she looks at Alex so I'm back to square one. :snicker:

The Invisible (with Alex) airing on FX 10/30 8pm EST

The Invisible is airing on FX this Friday (10/30) at 8pm Eastern and again at midnight (Eastern again) that same night.

I've seen bits and pieces, but I'm pretty positive Alex has a good sized role.

Not, alas, a very sympathetic role...although there is certainly something there for all you tat lovers.

(Have to admit, I fast forwarded through most of this one to Alex's bits...)

I do too, Lucky. It was an ok movie the first time 'round, but not much worth repeated viewings EXCEPT for the Alex bits.

He's the 4th lead and has a couple decent-sized scenes. Right up to the end. And he's very good in it... but yeah, he is NOT the hero. The voice is still there... and the tats. Even an extra added tat or two as I recall...

And definitely NOT Mick hair. :giggle:

I actually enjoyed this movie, reminded me of "Ice-Storm" by Ang Lee. Yeah, I'm a sucker for dark brooding weird character driven psycho movies.
I liked the way the boy was invisible even before he was a ghost. For the campy horror movie this premise could have been, it had depth. Very complex characters. I especially loved the performance of Annie.

Alex is smoking in this one, despite the non-hair. The tattoos are so in character here, they even painted one more on his neck so they would be visible at all times.
Spoiler:
Don't like that he was shot in the end, but we don't know, maybe he survived.
Edited by mod - as francis gave away the ending!

edited by francis to thank mod for editing. sorry. :teeth:

Francis is right - Alex is smokin' hot in this, but I would have enjoyed this movie even if he hadn't been in it.

I think one of the reasons I very much enjoyed it is because it reminds me of home. Lush and green and rainy and dark, most of it was shot around Vancouver, B.C (which is close to home for me) and the ending is just so wonderfully touching. And...Death Cab for Cutie are local boys who made good (they're from Bellingham, WA), and my favorite song of theirs is featured.

Plus, I'm a sucker for that deep, dark, teen angsty thing and this delivers perfectly. :-)

This is one of the few Alex movies I've seen. He does have a decent sized role and I also love the teen angst stuff.

"Blush" I even own it.

I do too, Carol... Alex is in it. Thus I own it. I think I oughta blush more than you... but yet I'm not.

I like this movie, although I don't own it on DVD yet. I love the way Alex looks in it, with the shaved head and tats showing. It really shows off his gorgeous eyes and strong jawline. :melts:

Oh yes, the movie. LOL I like the lead, Justin Chatwin. He and the actress who played Annie had good chemistry. It sucked me into the story and I was really curious as to what exactly was going on with him.
Spoiler:
Little bit of a shocker ending with Marcus too! Watching that scene where he and Annie are right on the edge of that cliff always has me sweatin' bullets. :gasp: I know I read somewhere that they really were that close and were hooked to safety lines, but still, YIKES!

I sometimes think the decent thing to do would be buy ALL the copies of Man Thing. And dispose of them.

I watched the movie on Netflix quite awhile ago. Didn't care much for it, even though I normally like "weird" movies. I did love the soundtrack though, I've even used the lyrics in some fic.

Funny story, I'd put it into my rental queue and totally forgotten all about it, so when it popped up on my "Watch Now" list, I was like, "why'd I want to see this movie??" Figured it was because of the theme and so I watched it. Then I heard a very familiar voice... :snicker:
