I don't think she was doing it to save the capitan, but to save the only person there who was supportive of her, the injured firefighter who wanted to donate. It felt like those two were pretty close and maybe emotionally she couldn't afford to lose him.darkstarrising wrote:The story line with the firefighters was ok, but trite. Lone female firefighter among a cadre that won't accept her, making her life hell. Adding the rape aspect just piled it on. It would have been different if the female firefighter stuck to her original position and let the captain 'go to hell', for everything he put her through. But they followed the altruistic and predictable outcome that the female firefighter and her tormentor end up being the living donors. Holding hands as they get ready for surgery was just too much.
