nayp, I think we're all sick of worrying about ratings. That's probably why no-one else has mentioned them.

We're (generally) more interested in what we think about the show than what other people think. Anyone's welcome to post any articles they choose - and there are plenty here - but now that the show is actually airing, we seem to have drifted into an actual discussion of what we liked and didn't like about each episode and what we'd like to see in the future.

Works for me.

Lilly, she was described as a surgical fellow so I presume that means she's more senior/has more experience.

Thanks, Red. Fellowship comes after residency, so, yes, she would be almost done with her training.

Red, that's why (as my daughters say) you kinda rock, but for me you are just Red!

All of us are wanting to see more of Andy's personal life, as well as all the doctors. But I don't think TR is that kind of show. We will only see snippets of their personal lives. Maybe if it makes it to season two we will see more.

And maybe it's all for the best we don't get too wrapped up in these characters because I don't think we are getting "the back nine." I've seen them announcing back nine for several series and even some are already getting a season two. With TR the silience is deafening.

Or, maybe the silence is encouraging. They're still giving it a chance. :fingerscrossed:

helloeeze, I wish I could decide whether or not to get wrapped up in these characters - then I'd probably decide not to. But it doesn't work that way for me. I watch the show, like the show, have become involved with the characters and everything else will play out as it may.

I'm channelling Doris Day *sings* "Que sera, sera..."

The only new series on CBS that I've heard is getting the 'back nine' orders is The Good Wife, probably because it's getting stellar ratings. Three Rivers isn't - and CBS is giving it a chance.

I'd rather think positive and enjoy what I'm getting than worry about what I may not.

Oh goodness, I think just maybe I am going for everything TRs gives me, I have all ready fallen for this show. I am so big right now for the fat lady, and untill she sings, my glasses are rose tinted.

Thanks for the explanation of internship and fellowship, Lilly. I didn't know the ranks, so I was confused. It makes sense that Dr. Lee would try to learn. It irks me a bit that Miranda has so many problems following orders. When she barged in after Dr. Jordan pronounced the patient dead, and gave orders to the nurses, I thought: How can she do that? For that, Dr. Jordan was professional and calm. I would have ripped her in that situation.

A dozen or more shows have gotten their back nine, not all CBS, of course. They are giving TR a chance possibly or letting the first slate of episodes run before announcing anything. I was surprised that Mercy got theirs, since it was panned and low ratings (different network though.)

I realize other shows on other networks got their full-season pickup - my comment concerned CBS only. I don't confess to be an expert, and quite frankly, my only concern at this moment is Three Rivers (although I am hoping The Forgotten gets their back nine).

I was going to comment on something francis said earlier and got totally distracted. I too really loved Andy's relief when that heart started beating - it just seemed so heartfelt. I know I was sitting on the edge of my seat, cheering like I was watching the Packers! :teeth:

I think they did a really good job in this episode of establishing the recipient couple as real characters. I can only imagine the tension of waiting for those seemingly interminable moments to see if the heart will beat or not. It was a lovely, subtle ending.

Actually, both The Good Wife and NCIS LA have gotten back nine orders, leaving Accidentally on Purpose, Medium and 3R still needing to prove themselves for CBS....if the episodes stay the caliber that they were last night, 3R might just have a fighting chance.

OK tomato time..... :tomato: I love that we tell each other what we think of the show, both the strong points and the weaknesses, but that doesn't do 3R any good. :tomato:

If you feel so inclined, go to the 3R homepage on CBS.com and at the very bottom of the page there is a teensy (and I mean teensy) little link called 'user feedback'. Click on it and follow the instructions.....

I've said it before and I'm going to say it again. Not one single tomato has been thrown in this thread. People have posted they love the show. People have posted they hate the show. People have speculated seventeen different ways from Sunday. And some people have just swooned.

As long as you stick to the same board rules that apply in every other forum, post whatever you like. Actually, make that continue to post whatever you like.

If you want to go leave feedback for CBS, then go leave feedback for CBS. No-one here's going to tell you not to.

PNW, NCIS: Los Angeles also got a season pickup. But I guess that one was a no brainer, since its the "best new drama on CBS". :snicker: Sorry, I know I'm being a bit sarcastic, but I really can't get into this show. No chemisty for me. But I absolutely adore the original NCIS.

And believe me, I really wish we over at TRFs were not so into ratings and reviews. I know my ulcer would appreciate a breather! :teeth:
