Finally getting the chance to view this past week's 3R and just a few minutes in, I am already liking it far better than last week's offering. I know I am in the minority, but watching last week's ep was a chore for me.
I must be a sucker for the glitz, because the lighting in this ep is so much better, and makes the actors look warmer and more attractive. As gorgeous as Alex is, the lighting in this episode seems to make him look even better, if that is possible. I am also enjoying his demeanor much more in this one, as well as his voice. Last week, he seemed a bit too 'whispery'--which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but you couldn't really hear him that well.
And Dr Lisa, who is a dead ringer for Kate Bosworth, I still feel that she looks far too young to be believable in that role. Or maybe I am just showing my age and everyone looks too young!

I don't know about your age, sweetie,

but for the life of me, I can't find much about Amber's age either....next to nothing on her IMBD page. But yeah, she looks young, probably mid to late 20s.

Hi dsr!!
I am loving the interaction between Andy and Scott---I remember how well they complemented each other in the other ep they were in together. A really natural acting pair.
ETA---as much as I like the Scott storyline, I am NOT into the poisoned girl thingy.
It's too much.

Hi dsr!!
I am loving the interaction between Andy and Scott---I remember how well they complemented each other in the other ep they were in together. A really natural acting pair.
I think the reason they resonate is that Scott reminds Andy of what he once and what he could have stayed had he not been given a second chance. He wanted to give Scott one as well.
Scott also appealed in that he was honest about who he was and his own fears - questioning his self worth. He just came across as a kid who got some bad breaks in life, and didn't know if he could be anything more than what he was. All he needed was someone like Andy to tell him he could be whatever he wanted to be...

Oh, why did they have to kill off Scott??
That broke my heart a little.
I am going to be in the minority once again, because I liked the ending. Given the high stress nature of Andy and Lisa's jobs, as well as their previous connection and attraction, I could totally see that happening. After a day like Andy had, there wouldn't have been a subtle lovemaking scene. It had to be as raw and rough as the day he experienced and the feelings he was having, although as it faded to black, there was a slowdown of the foreplay, as if he was coming back to himself. It may have seemed abrupt, and it might come across that way, if they don't follow that scene up in the next episode.
Yeah, I put a lot of thought into that scene. Sue me!
Overall, much better than last week, in my opinion, that is.

But he didn't say "Lisa," and that's just...
wrong.

I agree - I kinda liked the ending. Andy had just lost a patient - I think their coming together would have been more of an affirmation of life, a rousing bout of sex rather than slow lovemaking.
And I was brokenhearted when we lost Scott.

I liked the ending too. I thougth it made sense. He's been lonely and eyeing Lisa for a while now. Things had to come to a, um, head eventually. I was waiting for him to say her name but he'll have to in the coming episodes. I can wait. Not long, but I can wait.
