Overdamoon wrote:Hi, this is a highly speculative post from me.
The poster Moonlight32 from MLD whom I discussed briefly over here, who has a friend with connection to LM... Well, I hope she's wrong but she posted some blurb on MLD about 3R this morning...
:scary:
ODM, she posted a blurb saying what?

About LM's latest thoughts about medical pilots. Can I copy her post here?

No, ODM, please don't. I was just seeking to clarify your mysterious post about a blurb - that didn't say whether the blurb was positive or negative.

Just give us the gist of it, okay?

Not good, I'm afraid. CBS is concerned that NBC already has a couple of medical shows so Les may hold off on showing their medical pilots to the advertisers at Upfronts... Could be a mid-season plan.

I posted it on VLF if anyone wants to read her entire post.

It seems doubtful to me that CBS is that afraid of what NBC is doing. :? I'd place no more importance on it than any other speculation.

Honestly, if 3R doesn't get the go-ahead for fall, I am all for it being a mid-season replacement. That is much better than it not airing at all, and increases our odds of seeing it at some point. There are so many shows that air later in the season now, that it is becoming quite normal.
I mean, look at Lost--that didn't start till when? January?

No offense ODM, but someone's double secret anonymous posts don't hold a lot of credence.

I read those posts, btw, and the woman is vascillating all over the place. First she said that CBS is concerned about what NBC is doing. Then she's saying that Les isn't concerned at all and could kick Zucker's a$$. Maybe TR will be held back for mid-season. Maybe TR and even another med drama will be on the schedule to show NBC how it's done. And then there's the part about TR being presented at upfronts like it's some sort of bidding war for advertisers to decide which show is picked up. Sorry, that's not the way it works. The network will present its schedule and present which shows that HAVE picked up to the press and to give a preview for potential advertisers.

Let's face it, at this point it's a crapshoot. And if I want to be concerned with speculation, I'll stick to the more legit sources.

Honestly folks, our speculation makes much more sense to me than some of these other blogs, etc.
We have this info. down to a science and sound smarter than most of these other peeps by far.

the really sad thing of all of this (if there is any credibility to the post at all) is that it seems some of the decision making has less to do with good business strategy than it does one upmanship. Some of the strategy is well thought out and shows that are judged to have a good shot with the audiences are trotted out to the advertisers. Based on the response of the advertisers and god knows what else, a show is picked up (or not) for the fall.

Hopefully, more than one person has some input to the decision making......

No offense taken, SS. I just left a post on VLF that I think Les was voicing his private worries to his friend and they got captured in the post. The public Les is pretty confident that he could eat Zucker and NBC for lunch.

About the poster ML32, she gave a lot of tidbits from conversations and hearsay so it takes some getting used to. The head honchos are the biggest jerks and the insecure little boys combined into one. And unfortunately, they sometimes do make rash decisions based on hunches, egos or what they had for breakfast.

:offtopic: I know of one CEO in a big Fortune 500 company who just went with whatever his secretary was telling him. Until his wife found out.. :slappy: Could be a very random, arbitrary decision like what darkstarrising said.

If that's the case, does he know that all of his private worries are being translated twice only to be immediately posted on a public forum? :?
