That had to be a fun role to play... :giggle: Talk about getting to work out your frustrations... tho pouring oneself into the costume is an act of raw self-confidence...

I know it has tons of flaws, but it's kind of a lovenote to the fans... and for that reason alone I'd like it. But it has Logan being adorable, and the Cleaners, and the 150-year marriage... (I gloss over the infidelity and the fiery end)...and Mick making gratuitous basketball shots...
And, of course, "I love you".
I was doing sewing things - and almost didn't make it home to watch (no Tivo for me). How sad is it that I stress about getting home to watch a show that I have the DVDs for? While I love 99% of the eps - I really think Sonata is my favorite. And the 'Because I love you' is my favorite line.... Love when Mick gives Josef a hard time about breaking his own rules concerning Simone... Still love Simone (well - the actress for sure - she did a FABULOUS JOB in the taste/feeding scene). And I totally agree with Allegrita - it's a love note to the fans, and we accept it, and sent the love back.

Such a gestalt show. No individual part--even Mick--could have caught so many of us. It was the combination of things. The chemistry, the noir, the style, the romance, the beauty, the cityscapes, the humor, the poignancy, the allure, the frissons of fear...

The eyelashes,
The Armani,
The Henleys,
The soulfulness,
The voice,
The jeans,
The fireplace,
The snark,
The parted lips,
The jewelry,
The Ferrari,
The Mercedes,
The Prius,
The morgue,
The shower,
The blood orange juice,
The fangs,
The kisses,
The door kicked shut....... :hearts: :hearts: :hearts: :hearts: :hearts:

grace~it was a pleasure 'watching' Sonata with you. Even though Mr. Fleur came in towards the end, (making fun of me and ML, I might add), he did admit that it ended well. He started laughing at me when he saw my sad eyes as the door closed, then felt bad when he realized that was the last shot of the show. So, he did redeem himself when he admitted that they did a good job with the ending.

I think this is only the 3rd time I've seen Sonata. I just couldn't watch it much before, because it was too difficult. Now, I can view it and appreciate ML for all it was, and sometimes wasn't.

And Mick: you totally were doing more than 'tasting' Simone!

I'm embarrassed to say that I've only watched the ending once..the original Sonata. Last night and when I watch the Dvd..I stop after Talbot gets the list. It's a Freudian thing, I guess. The first time I saw "the door close" I didn't know about the cancellation..now, it's pure avoidance on my part. It's too painful to watch again. :blushing:

Pathetic, isn't it??

No sweetie, only honest and heartfelt...we all feel a loss when we now know the door will never open again.

I still say that - once they decided Sonata was the last episode - they should have cut the "Talbot gets the list" scene and put back some of the cut out material from the epi. There was no need for that lead into a season that was never coming. They could have "ended" the story.
