Valid point, francis. He would make a beautiful corpse, if need be. Though I hope he remains alive in the ep--at least until the bitter end.

francis,
thank you for reminding me to order Mary Bryant....I've wanted to see this for so long. As for the serial killer in CM, Alex's character can either be captured (typically what happens in this show) or killed. If his character really wants to stop what he's doing, he may facilitate his own death, either by their hand or his.
this is a truly off the wall thought, but if they do manage to capture him, could they 'make use' of his character's insights from time to time? I was thinking in terms of if Three Rivers doesn't get picked up....

(note, I threw the first tomato at myself)

DSR--You must get MB. I finally purchased it a few months ago and it is truly as wonderful as everyone said it would be.
As far as tomatoes---you won't get any thrown from me! I like your 'back-up plan'!!
Sorry, couldn't resist.

I really haven't been interested but do you guys think I should watch the next couple of eps of CM just to see who the cast is and how they relate, etc.?? Will it help my understanding of Alex's ep.?
I will make the ----sacrifice----if it will make Alex's ep that much more exciting.
Any advice?

WF,
there are only two more eps before Alex's ep....I'd recommend watching, if for no other reason to understand who the main players are...they're quite an eclectic group....the head of the unit (Hotchner) comes across as a really stiff character - don't know if that's intentional or not. there's the requisite geek, actually two of them, two women, one of which has some issues, and the conscience of the group, played by Joe Montegna

One or two episodes should get you up to speed on the main characters and what their functions are. And even if you're not able to view any more beforehand, I think you'll still get the gist, so to speak.
From TVGuide:
Premise: A procedural thriller about the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit, which profiles criminals to solve crimes. The ensemble drama relies on the team's diversity, which includes a young genius and a seasoned leader tortured by a past case. Unlike other crime dramas that focus on science, this series is very cerebral and almost Holmesian in its deductive analysis of the crimes and their perpetrators.

I guess one more reason to watch the next episodes is to catch the promo for Alex's appearance
I tried to watch it these last weeks but remain unimpressed, sorry !

Yeah,
DC... while it's a decent show, it isn't riveting to me at least, and I think the main pay-off for watching these next couple weeks is to catch a glimpse of our guy... I mean, truth be told...

Thanks guys!
I will watch the two eps before Alex's then. I wonder who on the set are Alex's good friends he worked with? I wonder if they were actors or crew or both?
At least now I know what BAU stands for!
I did know the black guy from my soap Y&R when he was on it years ago; he left when CM started. He was quite hunky.

That would be Shemar Moore.
And yes, we will have to at least watch the episode prior to Alex's to catch his promo. And then I will be tuning into CBS randomly throughout that week to get more glimpses of the promo. SIgh, reminds me of ML behavior.

No apologies, dc. You know I felt the same way. I think I just am not that into the CBS shows. I never watched anything on that channel before ML. However, I will watch CM again before Alex's ep.
A thought: we should track what the regular ratings/numbers are for CM and then see if they go up when Alex's ep airs. Could be interesting to see how many MLers will be checking in!

I've been kinda doing that....for new episodes (without any special competition on another network), CM numbers were about 14 million viewers, give or take a few

that it is, but it's lower than CSI, NCIS and the Mentalist this week.
