And yes, tecc, get that man out of a shirt and I tend to have focus issues.

Re: B.C. (Episode Six)
I think Carl respected Mick, especially as the series went on, but his reaction here did seem over the top. We'd seen nothing before to suggest he knew anything negative about Mick - he and Beth got along fine too. Yeah, just a bit odd.
Josh's reaction though seemed right to me. Who wouldn't have leapt to the (correct) conclusion that there was something going on?

Hmm. I always assumed it had to do with that file he has on Mick. Left by Josh? We'll never know. But, yes, Carl probably did have an earful for Talbot as well.librarian_7 wrote:Now, now, Luxe, your ulterior motives are showing.Luxe de Luxe wrote:Me too!I was hoping for a cat fight - then Mick would have had to jump in the middle, and maybe his shirt would have got torn.
But back to earlier discussion, I think Carl feels quite a bit of dislike for Mick...after all, in a later episode, when Talbot says what he's heard about Mick being "not good"--I'm betting the one he heard it from was Carl.

It's been my limited experience that cops don't think much of private investigators...or maybe I just watch too much TV.
I felt Carl was contemptuous of Mick, which seemed right in line of how I perceive a cop's attitude towards a P.I.

Re: B.C. (Episode Six)
Josh and Beth arrive home - he drove her (whish makes me wonder how she got to the club). But he's still pretty pissed.

He reminds her that he asked her not to follow the story. She tells him to be mad if he wants to. (Talk about deflection!) He doesn't WANT to be mad. But what is he to think when he raids the club and finds her there. With Mick St. John. (Aha! We get to the heart of it).

He's to think that she's a good reporter who happened to be a step ahead of the DA's office. And she wasn't there with Mick. Not really.

Josh says he's leaving. Beth doesn't stop him.

Beth looks tired after he leaves.

But she remembers something. She dips into her purse and pulls out the vial of Black Crystal.

Josef and Mick meet at Mick's place.

Mick updates Josef on what he's found out about Lola. He tosses a vial of BC to Josef.

Josef sniffs it and realizes its vampire blood. Mick tells him that, "apparently, the high is us".

Josef asks where she's getting the blood. Mick tells him about the drained vamp he found. She's preying on her own kind. Josef remarks that he should have known. Mick comes to his defense saying that she stole a million bucks from him. Josef smiles.

She didn't steal it. Mick's disbelieving. Josef says she asked for it and he gave it to her.

Josef admits he couldn't help himself. But he thought she had limits. He gets angry on behalf of the vampire used to make the BC. That powder used to be someone. But they were reduced down to a party drug. And fed to human. Mick remarks that some of those are dying too.

Josef tells Mick that he can't let the cops solve this case and catch Lola. She won't hide what she is (serious risk to the secret).

Mick's not going to let it happen. He gets up and takes the BC back from Josef.

Beth is busy researching drugs.

She remembers Lola's words: What does it feel like? Just once and you'll see.

She stops and grabs the vial. And tries it.

She must like what she's feeling because she takes a little more.

Suddenly, her reflection in the mirror on the desk is speaking to her.

Re: B.C. (Episode Six)
Loved the Mick Josef interraction as usual. Boy those two had great on screen chemistry, didn't they?
I do have to say that the talking mirror image thing with Beth was just silly, imo. If the effect was supposed to mimic being a vamp, does Mick's reflection talk to him on a regular basis? Did we see his reflection talk to him after he was turned? No. So I thought it was such a weird thing to put in here.

I didn't like the mirror thing either, SS, but I figure they were trying to say she was under the influence of the drug. Hallucinations and all that jazz. *shrug*

Re: B.C. (Episode Six)
Good catch. But there is no real drug in BC. It's basically vamp blood and silver. I think they were just trying to get across that on the drug there is an inner vamp of sorts that has come out in Beth. It might have even been sillier for her to have a conversation with herself in her head.

Those screen caps just reminded me of an issue I always had with this episode..... What did Mick do with his vial of B.C.???? We know that Beth's is in her top drawer. But Josef gives Mick back the vial. Are we to assume he dumps it?

I always wondered that too, LdL. Maybe he threw it in the same cupboard where he keeps his jar of extracted bullets. Kind of a souvenir section, so to speak.Luxe de Luxe wrote:Those screen caps just reminded me of an issue I always had with this episode..... What did Mick do with his vial of B.C.???? Heck, I always wondered how Mick ended up with a vial to take home. Apparently Lt. Carl didn't search him very well? Or they found a vial on him and let him keep it? Yeah, right.

He, uh, used his crafty vampire powers to hide it. Lanyard and all. *snerk*librarian_7 wrote:Heck, I always wondered how Mick ended up with a vial to take home. Apparently Lt. Carl didn't search him very well? Or they found a vial on him and let him keep it? Yeah, right.

That was always my question Lucky... he didn't have a chip... did Lola give him one, out of professional quid pro quo or something? Doubt it.
I LOVED the Mick in the MickJosef conversation... he is SOOO at large and in charge... he is NOT gonna let that happen. Well you go do it to it, Mick! Whew!!

yes... very good point the both of you. Guess he used his vamp powers to swipe some (that's what he was there for after all) - but he obviously wasn't searched properly.wpgrace wrote:librarian_7 wrote:Heck, I always wondered how Mick ended up with a vial to take home.
