Josh's behavior may have been out of line, but it was perfectly normal for a guy who sees his girlfriend with a tall, handsome guy - the same guy who she fell apart over when she thought he was dead. That's gotta grate on a guy.

I love Lola here. I love how she slides that verbal knife between Beth's ribs and starts twisting...telling her that Mick's only interested in her because she's young and fresh and that eventually he'll get bored with her when she gets older. I grin like a fool every time I hear "in a year or two when he stops coming around and you look in the mirror" - Lola knows EXACTLY where to hit.

And she's quick to get away when the cops show up - like a rat deserting a sinking ship.

That "in a year or 2--and looking in the mirror" lines bugged me--I mean, Beth isn't even 30, and Lola's talking as if Beth will be so riddled with wrinkles and lines that Mick will not be able to stand being near her in a short period of time.

oh yeah... but we all worry about it, and with a vampire potential boyfriend that has to be on your mind. Lola was being a total be-arch.

Yeah, she was! I guess because I am 'of a certain age'--that comment bugged me, then again, that was her intent, after all.

Agreed. I always sort of took that line as "He may want you now, but he'll be bored with you soon enough. And when you look in the mirror, you'll wonder if it's because you're older and there's SO many young things with which to tempt himself."

Yes, she was subtly vicious - I very much enjoyed it. ;-)

Me too! :giggle: I was hoping for a cat fight - then Mick would have had to jump in the middle, and maybe his shirt would have got torn.

Now, now, Luxe, your ulterior motives are showing.

But back to earlier discussion, I think Carl feels quite a bit of dislike for Mick...after all, in a later episode, when Talbot says what he's heard about Mick being "not good"--I'm betting the one he heard it from was Carl.

No, no. There is no getting back to an earlier discussion, not when we have so much to consider with Luxe's idea!

I always found Carl hard to read. He respected him enough in the end to let him in to Tejada's man.

Actually I kinda giggle with that line... yeah Lola was being a bitch and trying to give Beth an inferiority complex...

...but what always occurs to me is... you two actresses, in a year or two, when you both hit thirty and the only roles you get offered anymore are as washed up clueless moms on a Nickleodeon sitcom or as the homely nosy neighbor in a movie in which Alex is still getting to star and play hunk up to and past the age of 60 opposite the latest gorgeous 25 year old starlet sensation, you'll both wish you really were vampires...

Sooo not right... but let's see what happens...

Someone needs to lay down a challenge to the writers to write a short fic that had torn shirted Mick in it somewhere.

Yet another indicator of how having 5 or 6 showrunners in less than one year can affect a series. Cohesiveness was not ML's strong suit, that's for sure. It's amazing that the eppys ended up as well as they did.
