I know, I know, OT... but ...

Mick already told Beth (in the dawn balcony scene in 12:04AM) that the "stalking" thing was a major reason why he felt that it could never work between them. Beth has her work cut out for her to overcome that reluctance, I think. Mick hasn't found out yet whether the attraction could become something else in his relationship with Beth. He's got a huuuuuge history with Coraline that proves that attraction, spark, passion...call it what you will... aren't the problem. :hearts:

This goes way beyond the scope of an episode discussion, but I think it's up to Beth to overcome Mick's natural hesitation where sex is concerned. And people who've read my Sonata stories have an idea of where I think that'll go.

As I said, Luxe, I started it. I just wanted to veer back before we got totally derailed. Not that I don't think we should discuss this (it's actually a topic that really, really bothered me - enough for me to write my first fanfic about it!) - but there will be a better time for it.

You're right. Back to the episode, I sure would like to find the websites Beth was doing this research on....I suppose they are just as "real" as those fake Vampire reference books in Lee Jay's trunk.

Lucky

If anyone can track that down, that would be you, Lucky...

And LOVED y'all's OT discussion last night! Some of the plot holes and ambiguousness DO seem (you are so right GA) to be just writer error... but some seem to be purposefully vague that SOOOOOO could have led to wonderful future eps... sigh.

Thanks, grace...and hey, who's better at going off topic than this bunch? But--you know that.

I'm personally familiar with the phenomenon, yes... :giggle:

I enjoy the next scene just for its sheer fun and beauty.

Mick and Morgan meet so they can tail Tina Haggans, do some surveillance and take some pictures.

Image

Mick gives Morgan a picture of their target - she comments that the woman is pretty but for $50,000 he could have upgraded to a new model (that's cold). Mick says that he's going to have to get and stay close to the action in order to avoid all the noise interference. Morgan says she'll move around so she can get a good shot.

Mick give her an earpiece so they can communicate. Morgan thinks its all so "Bourne Identity" and she loves it! Mick looks like he's enjoying her enjoyment.

Image

They separate. Mick gets out his expensive, handy dandy microphone and alerts Morgan that their target has entered the plaza. Morgan starts taking pictures.

Image

A very attractive man joins their target and Mick gives Morgan a head up - they might have something.

Image(I just adore the pursed lips!)

She's on it and snaps away and asks Mick what they're saying. There's too much interference for him to hear (so much for expensive technology). He has to move closer.

Image

Morgan continues to move around snapping pictures as Mick moves in behind the couple.

Image

Image

He tries to stay hidden, yet close enough to hear but it's still not working.

Image

He moves in closer.

But our suave, cool, graceful vamp nearly knocks over a a man with a shopping cart and makes enough noise to draw the attention of Mrs. Haggans.

Image

Morgan tries to warn him. He quickly changes direction and moves out of sight. It works, Tina just thinks she's being paranoid. Mick tries to find another good spot while Morgan continues to snap pics. She asks Mick what they're saying but he still can't hear.

Image

Image

Finally, she gets her money shot!

Image

Mick removes his earpiece so he can hear with his own ears instead of the microphone. He can hear snatches here and there. It sounds like she says something about 'he'll kill us'.

Image

Image

Mick appears to be shaken. Morgan tells him she got the shot (and that she's amazing - talk about confidence!) They can go to Haggans and show him. It'll be the easiest ten grand ever. Mick doesn't think it's a good idea and he shares what he heard.

Image

Uh oh. Not good.

You know, in this scene, they are dressed so similarly, it really plays up their almost identical coloring. Mick and Coraline are polar opposites in so many ways, and so similar in others. And I think this scene really brings that out.

She has such child-like enthusiasm in this scene - she's bubbling with glee at the naughtiness of their project. He certainly does look like for a second there he's caught up in her enthusiasm and I imagine that she created a whirlwind of excitement around their lives together - and why he found it difficult to leave such joie de vivre permanently.

I loved her enthusiasm too. It's so much fun. How could Mick not get caught up? I think Coraline is a complex individual. But I don't know if there was a constant level of joie de vivre. I think THIS Coraline is in direct contrast to the one we met in Mick's flashbacks from The Ringer. That Coraline is a controlled seductress. Her many faces must have kept him on his toes though.

Yes, good point, GA. She is a woman with many faces. I think this was part of both the attraction and the repulsion for Mick. The double-edged sword their relationship perished on.

When I see her in this, though, I'm struck by just how much fun this version of Coraline is. I'd want to hang out with her. You'd never be bored.

Yes, you can certainly see why Beth liked her. She's confident and fun. And direct with a bit of mystery.

This is another scene I've used a lot in my vids. I love the playfulness of it. Mick and Morgan both seem to be enjoying themselves here. Morgan is exceptionally confident in this scene and clearly good at what she does and Mick seems impressed with her here too. It was interesting for me to see him working alongside Morgan here. Different dynamic to what you see when he works with Beth on cases.

On a completely shallow note - I love watching Mick run around the park a little clumsily. :giggle:

"Morgan" may have been confident to the point of brashness, but she was also an excellent photographer. It's a fantastic scene on so many levels.
