Oh, Tam... :hankie: :hankie: :hankie: You've broken my romantic's heart. Because I have to believe that Beth will break through that wall. Mick can't do it without her... but I pray that she can help him do it.

But in an alternate universe where Mick never found a way to say "I love you," where he stayed mostly in the shadows and never dared to show her his feelings... yeah, I can see this happening. And Beth will make herself a tolerably happy life, and will pour her love into that child... even though she never stops looking for that elusive shadow that slips by the corner of her vision.

And Mick is alone... always alone. :Mickangel:

Oh sigh...

I know, it's terrible, isn't it? :Mickangel:

I'm sorry for making everyone feel so bad- it just happened. I heard the song and the story write itself... It's not supposed to be AU, btw- it's just supposed to be post-series, after he learned to say 'I love you' (hence the photo tearing). Not terribvly important for the impact, though.

Ohhhhh my!!! My heart is broken in thousand tiny pieces...those two so apart from eachother and Mick watching in the shadows all over again, with Beth knowing it all now....

Back to reread this lovely, sad story. It makes me want to give Mick a hug. :comfort2:
