Your drabbles are poetry. Perfect in every word.
What she said. Exactly.

This is amazing, Red!

Red, that conversation from the Ringer has stuck with me. I remember the fever comment from Mick so strongly and poor Beth's reaction to it. This piece touches that scene so perfectly. I just adore what you can do with so few words. :happysigh:

Beth just needed the right man to unlock all that passion I just know she possessed. She was way too fiesty a girl not to have it in there somewhere.

Love it. :twothumbs:

Thanks, coco. I always felt so sorry for Beth during that conversation. More than anything she'd discovered about vampires, THAT was the moment when she really had it made very clear to her how little she really understood.

And thank you also for making the 1500th post in my office. :hyper2: *loves coco*

Sweeeet!

I don't think Beth has ever before been moved the way she has with Mick. He's literally swept her off her feet and she, being the realistic, pragmatic person she is would have thought that was stuff of fairytales. MmHmm. Just like vampires. Not to say she didn't care for Josh. I'm sure she did. But it was lukewarm compared to the burn she experiences with Mick.
"A fever," he'd told me, from long ago, still bringing fire to his eyes and a tremble to his voice.

I never knew.
Nope. But now she does. :)

I'd bet she was thinking that when he was explaining his feelings for Coraline. But there was no way she could admit it then.

Lukewarm indeed. Poor Josh - he never stood a chance. Thanks, GA. :rose:

I'm jumping on the head-nodding wagon here. And that's it in a nutshell: Now she knows. :clapping:

ITA with everything said here. :cheer:

Your story gave me pause. And caused me to think about BC and what Mick took away from that experience with Beth. (And I don't mean the squirming :snicker: ) Rather, his reaction and, perhaps, reflection on this side of Beth and this side of her passionate nature. Especially given his experience with the fever of passion. Can't help but think in my mind's eye of Mick sitting there right after Beth has woken up. The expression on his face. Holding her at arm's length, as always. Concern. Amusement. And thoughtful.

Thanks, Red

Thanks so much, susieb - both for the lovely comment and for reminding me of the amazingly beautiful expression on Mick's face as he watched Beth waking up on his couch in BC. :cloud9:

oh yeah, she gets it, she gets it now, Red. A great insight into Beth's passion for Mick.

Lovely.

The essence of Beth's love for Josh contrasted with her love for Mick.

Thanks, jen. We all saw it - Josh was a good guy. But he just wasn't Mick.
