It's got to be hard for the authorities. Where does the line get crossed when these things are voluntary? It's dangerous (and gross) but is it a CRIME?

The scene with the food smearing, ending with Michael completely out of control, is the first time that I really felt that knife-edge. Deidre can't see it but I felt every second, from that point on, that she was in imminent danger. That, to me, was terrifying.
