Keeping in mind that I routinely get The Ringer and Fleur de Lis mixed up (mainly because I think they should have called The Ringer "Fleur de Lis"), but in whichever epi Beth found the photos that Cora had of Mick...
Has anyone brought up the possibility that he was an assignment? A lot is made of Mick's fleury cross and its possible tie to Coraline, but what if it was a family heirloom and Mick was already part of "The Bloodline". It may not have been Cora's choice to single him out at all, and her "games" were her way of seeing for herself if he was up to standards. Falling in love with him could have come after the fact (and before the wedding), fouling up "His" plans.
(and what's with Cora's brand switching shoulders? It's on her left in the flashbacks - both of her getting branded and the pool scene, but on her right when she takes the make-up off. Someone flipped the film.)

When she takes off the make-up, she's looking in the mirror. The camera is shooting the mirror image as she looks into it.

Ah! I didn't realize the shot was in the mirror.

Define "off-limits"... cause as far as I am concerned, he can flatter himself all he wants to... Beth may not be, but I"M jealous!
And who would be off-limits to him?? Is any woman off limits to HIM? Some women may be dangerous and hard to get, or already involved in a relationship with a DA... but that doesn't make them off limits to HIM. Even as a mortal, they weren't. Certainly Cora wasn't... and I don't think him now being a vampire is in any way quelling Beth's interest in him...
And heck, as far as we know, the whole reason he was actually able to beat Lola in the fight in the previous ep is that she became overcome by looking at him and let her guard down... I don't even consider Lola off-limits to him...

I've wondered that too
Sister. I'm pretty sure she was mesmerized by those lovely curls when he caught her off guard, leading her to demise.

This was my thinking......"off limits" was just my way of saying they were women he should not, for whatever reason, become involved with. And he pays a price if he continues his pursuit. Lila was his friend's wife. He falls in love with her and his friend came back so he had to step back. He lost them as friends. Coraline was not only out of his league but she was a vampire (albeit unknownst to him). I have no doubt there would have been money issues in their relationship. And as a result of marrying a vamp, he was Turned. We know their relationship did not work out. Then there is Beth. She's already involved and she is human. By his own admission, he should leave her alone. But he can't. This may be romantic to many (myself included) but it's also another example of his choice in 'type'.

LOL!! I getcha. Yeah, he did seem to be attracted to women who would somehow cause him grief... but then he seemed to thrive in misery a bit and certainly did not feel that once bitten, twice shy... Tho I can't say my own track record allows me to judge... sometimes bad boys are just more appealing, right?
And Beth is actually pretty safe, albeit in a relationship... if he WANTED to keep her at arms length, that gave him the excuse... tho I think that line of his, "you're jealous", is very revealing... Mick DOES have an ego, and he IS interested in Beth, his words to the contrary...

GA I've been waiting patiently til we got to the M/B scene from The Ringer. For me, it was indeed a ray of sunshine. I enjoy the M/B interaction most of all and this episode had very little so I was so pleased to see this moment between them. And it gave us the knee kiss which I love. I love the way they are both sitting the same way, mirroring each other and then there is that moment when they realise their hands are touching and they both get quite shy. I just love it.
I love the "you're jealous" comment too and the smile from Mick

is so sweet. HE is most definitely interested in Beth and SHE is most definitely interested in Mick

He's also interested in Coraline. And she's interested in him.
Sorry, had to.

A complicated triangle

That's the cool thing about this ep, Sister... and you're right coco... suddenly a triangle...
Mick's been on this 20 year dry spell and now suddenly he's got 2 girls.
We've chatted about how fascinating it is that he is so rattled in this ep... and we've not gotten to the end yet, but it ends on such an interesting note in this regard.
He DOES have 2 girls and he has some level of interest AND history with them both. And that rattles him, I think, as much as the concept that the woman he murdered is come back. He had made his little solitary life, had kinda emerged a little, with Beth, and now smack... there's Cora too and he's full out of the monk closet.
And of course, part of the reason Cora has suddenly shown herself (cause we'll find out in FdL that she's been taking pics all this time) is that Cora now must step in or risk MickBeth going too far... if she herself will still have a shot with Mick, she knew it was now or never... or now or wait until Beth dies a mortal death anyway... so Cora also managed, as Mick says at the very beginning of the ep, to appear just in the nick of time, as Mick was starting to feel like he and BEth had "something."

That ends in the shower...
(Or would have if a certain nosy blonde with bad timing hadn't shown up -- the ONLY time she actually knocked before barging in.)
