Yes, while the perpetual coolness is sexy, the lapse is even more so! :melts:

Without a doubt, our guy has some serious women issues.

Here we go. Mick and Beth go home with Morgan to check her place out.

Beth is telling Morgan how much she loves her place. How cool it is. Mick is watching Morgan very closely. In response to Beth's comments, Morgan tells her she has a 50s thing she can't shake. LOL. More so than any other, this episode must be listened to carefully - lots of fun lines between Morgan and Mick.

Morgan asks what she can tell Mick. He says to start with what happened. Morgan leads them into her room.

She explains that she was in her bedroom, sleeping at about 3 in the morning when she heard a rattling at the front door. Mick picks up a bedside book and asks her if she was alone.

Image

Image

Image

The question rattles Beth. Morgan takes some offense and wants to know if that is part of the investigation. Mick says 'potentially'. She says she was alone.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Mick and Morgan are silent, watching each other. Beth moves it along commenting that she thinks they've established that Morgan was alone. Mick wants to know what happened next.

Image

Image

Image

Morgan says that she left her bedroom and begins to walk out, Mick following. They pass Beth like she's not even there. (Not a pleasant feeling I'm sure.)

Image

Morgan says when she got out of her room she saw a guy at her desk. He hadn't taken her jewerly, car keys or cash. They establish he wasn't after cash. Probably wanted what was in her cameras. It was arson, maybe it was her thief that started the fire. Mick quips that arsonists sometimes like to stick around to watch the burn.

Image

Image

Image

Morgan says the thief was out of luck then. She has those pics on her jump drive. She takes it from around her neck (on a chain) and inserts it into her computer. She pulls up the pictures she took of the fire. And of course, Mick is watching her closely. Beth is watching Mick watch Morgan.

Image

Image

Image

Beth points out something in a photo. Morgan pulls up a closer shot.

Image

Image

She recognizes the guy in the photo as her thief.

Image

The guy in the photo is killing a woman. Mick's VO tells us that seeing that photo was like looking into the past - into a nightmare, and we get a flashback of Mick killing Coraline in a fire.

They realize that Morgan caught a murder on camera.

Beth's not stupid. She KNOWS something's up with Mick and Morgan.

I love the undertones in this scene...Mick's watching Morgan, Beth's watching Mick and you can almost SEE the wheels turning in Morgan/Coraline's head.

Again, I'm struck by how much Alex can say more with one expression that with 10 pages of dialogue.

There. That is the very cogent thing I WOULD have said if I could have stopped staring at his incredibly handsome face long enough to say it...

 Pgal.

Now back to staring...

Well...Grace....

I WAS going to point out that if Mick looked at me the way he looked at Morgan and asked me a bunch of questions, I'd probably give out the coordinates to Area 51 and hand over the secret recipe to Bush's Baked Beans.

:gasp:

Says a lot for Coraline's willpower that she was able to ignore those looks from Mick.

:coffee: And no one, NO ONE, would blame you a bit. Not one bit. There could be no prosecution for those crimes... no jury would convict. Your sole defense? "Ladies and gay gentlemen of the jury... look at him!"

ITA PNW about this scene. Beth knows something is going on but she just can't work out what. I actually felt quite sorry for her in this scene. So much going on around her and she is kind of on the sidelines looking in

Having not watched this ep much, this is one of the memorable scenes for me :)

I feel bad for Beth too. Although she still has a boyfriend at home and shouldn't be feeling so jealous. But she is and I would be too. You can just tell her mind is screaming "what the hell is going on here?!"

LOL. If that makes you warm to Morgaline, I'd curl your toes! j/k As Beth goes through her house in FdL we get to see that Morgan wasn't the best at housekeeping.

hee hee hee..... I think the messy housekeeping made her human. I like it and I liked the fact that she wasn't rushing around trying to tidy!
