Maybe it was because the premiere of Dollhouse , which by the way did pretty bad, under 5 million viewers.

:offtopic: here for just a second, but...I can see why Dollhouse didn't have very many viewers. It's awful.

That surprises me a bit, because I thought Fever would see an increase. Then again, numbers were down over all.
However, next week's numbers will be interesting to see how many new people were hooked after Fever.

thanks so much for the info!!

Well, last weekend with St Valentine and Dollhouse....

And if you check TVbythenumbers all SciFi Top shows lost numbers this week , their Top Shows , Ghost H. Inter. and ECW, both lost numbers too.

Just check this out, this week.......last week

Ghost Hunters.........1'892.............2'115.......223.000 less viewers
ECW........................1'658...........1.772..........92.000 less viewers
Batt.Gal...................1'738...........1'767..........29.000 less viewers
ML...........................1'242...........1'262..........20.000 less viewers

So as you see , ML was of the one who lost less viewers.

Moonlight's numbers went down to 948 this week from 1,262 :confusing:

Maybe because AD seems to be one of the least fave eps, fans didn't tune in? I'm betting the numbers will soar with BC on this week :cheer:

I have no clue why the viewership numbers are steadily dropping, but what worries me more than anything is that if they keep dropping, SciFi will do to Moonlight what it did to Invasion...replace it with another show, guaranteed to bring in more viewers. That would be very sad indeed!

I think part of the problem is Next Gen as a lead-in and Dollhouse, I think is taking some viewership. I'm a big fan of Sarah Connor Chronicles which is on before Dollhouse. If I didn't have Moonlight to switch to I'd probably watch Dollhouse.

Yes, Nielsen.

I think people are placing too much emphasis on what episode is airing. If the audience is familiar with the show to the point where they know what episode comes next, then they aren't going to care what episode it is - they love the show anyway. Conversely, if a person is unfamiliar with the show and watching it only for the first or second time, then they won't know if the next episode is a dud. (Although one person's "dud" is another person's "Best episode EVAH!").

I think it's much more likely that it is other factors drawing ML's audience away. It could be Dollhouse or other shows, but that is a significant drop. I wonder how Dollhouse did?

ETA; Dollhouse did worse than last week and dropped from 4.7 mill to 4.2, so I don't know where the viewers went, but I'm guessing they are off watching other shows or doing other things (geez, Mandy ya think?). :slaphead:

Well, ever the optimistic..I am hoping that so many new viewers tuned in the first few episodes that they were immediately Moonbitten and ran to their nearest computer to order the DVDs from Amazon..so no longer need to be home on Friday nights... :confused2:

 I know..it's lame..but, work with me here folks...

Or maybe our show is an acquired taste...

At any rate, we have it on DVD... and for now can enjoy it together on SciFi...

And we'll see ALex in April...

And if the angels are kind... we'll see him in a series next year...

But it does seem the hoped for (albeit long-shot) groundswell of SciFi love for Moonlight isn't happening... cr@p (to use one of Mick's fave words).

Cool ! :groupwave:
Thanks!
i still think some viewers moved to Dollhouse . After all Dollhouse is a new series and probably atracts the same type of viewer SciFi has. So even if only 200.000 viewers moved from ML at SciFi to Dollhouse , those numbers are more than enough to make an impact in SciFi ML ratings.
Well, maybe some of those viewers are using their DVR with Ml at SciFi...

Yikes! 1.2 million to under a million. Well, hope it goes back up. Perhaps ya'll are right and people switched over to Dollhouse. No idea. I hope they will still go ahead with the marathon and at the very least, finish showing all 16 eps.
