I just saw this for the first time. It's amazing. Poor Mrs. St. John, what heartache she's enduring. She lost her son even though she doesn't have a body to bury.

Cassy - Thank you so much. You are right, Mrs. St. John has a terrible burden to bear. Yet she keeps trying.

Just came back for a re-read. This story is so powerful and so fine, I will never get over how it makes me feel. It would kill Mick instantly to be in his mom's mind even for a minute. My heart is aching!

Oh, Maggetha, :comfort2: . Mrs. St. John carries a terrible burden. I too find her story moving. Your response feels like you picked up and helped her carry it for a while.

Mick's poor mom. :Mickangel: She knows in her heart that Mick is gone, but she has never been given any closure. :bmoon: Her thoughts about her role as a mother are very thought-provoking.

The title is absolutely perfect. :notworthy:

Thank you, NM! :rose:

Thank you, Marigold. I think the lack of closure is one of the more tragic things for Mick's mom.

Really lovely.

I think you have touched on a fascinating concept here. We humans have a sense, generally very faint but we recognize it. A 'knowing' that is hard to describe but Mick's mother 'knew' here. We are all truly connected and no more so than with those closest to us. Somehow, a mother's instincts filled in what rational thought and acquired knowledge could not provide.

Her boy was gone.

Thank you.

Always an unanswered question in the M Lcannon universe what was left behind from Mick's turning and how did his family cold with the loss. Very well done and heartwarming. Great job!
