It is amazing the things you catch when you are surfing channels randomly because you can't sleep. I happened to switch over to BBC1 just after 1am this morning to see an episode of Black Jack was on and I had this :bulb: moment thinking that's the show Alex was in. So I then preceeded to casually ( ;) ) scan forward in the Sky guide to see when the next ep would air and what the ep would be:

This Sunday @ 11:40pm BBC1 (all regions as far as I could tell (yes, I did check that too for my friends down south  ) we can watch Alex again on our TV screens. :cloud9:

Remember to set those DVD recorders, ladies. :woohoo:

ETA: And lets all pray they don't change the schedule for something annoyingly festive. :snicker:

Grace, Australia and England often collaborate on shows. They did with Mary Bryant. But I think the Blackjack movies are totally Australian. So glad they're getting to see them over there. They are excellent stories and Colin Friels is just a great actor.

Bumping as a reminder.

BBC One is running about 5 mins behind schedule tonight (following a live awards show earlier).

Considering I'd been ill since 4am that Sunday morning, I was rather pleased with myself that I managed to remain awake for this. :snicker: I'm so pleased that I remembered to set the Sky+. I can now watch it back when I have some free time and enjoy it properly.

In answer to a question from dsr about Luke Anderson - here's a little summary.

Luke and his brother were witnesses to their father's murder (a gangland killing) when they were children. The story picks up with them as adults, following in their father's criminal footsteps (armed robbery is their crime of choice).

The main focus is on the re-investigation of their father's murder following the discovery of new evidence (the detective is the main character) and how Luke, his brother and mother cope with that re-investigation.

Luke is a criminal, definitely, with a brutal streak - but the overwhelming sense is that his character was formed by the trauma of his father's murder and that he never really got his life on track after that. He's not a good guy by any stretch of the imagination - but there is a humanity and sympathy in him that's really quite touching.

thanks, red  ....now I really want to see it. You got a feel for how Alex could play a bad guy in a couple of flashback scenes in ML (dealing with a young Lee Jay). I would just like to see how he does that kind of portrayal in more than just flashbacks. Any idea if this is on DVD?

It's certainly not available over here on DVD - but I don't know about in the US.

The only DVD I've ever seen discussed on ANY of the Alex or ML sites is an Aussie DVD... whatever region number that is... and thus will only work if you have a DVD player that will play discs from there. I've heard of all-region players, but I don't have one and have no idea if this is myth or reality.

I think I ran into a couple excerpts on You Tube. Sorry, I don't remember what I searched for to find them.
