I do not own any recognizable characters no copyright infringement is intended. I wrote this for Halloween Shadows challenge on MLAB and I'm bringing it over here.
Beth was planning a Halloween wedding much to the dismay of all the vampires in her life.
"Halloween?" Josef snarled. "No self-respecting vampire leaves his house on Halloween."
"Well this year you’ll have to make an exception. You’re going to be right next to Mick when I walk down the aisle."
"Didn’t Mick tell you? Vampires burst into flames if they go to church on All Hallows Eve."
"Josef I don’t want to hear it. My wedding day is going to be perfect."
Mick sighed. "I’ve tried to talk her out of it Josef but she insists on the cliché."
"The two of you are no fun at all. If you keep this up I’ll make the reception a costume party with the theme Buffy/Angel."
Mick was horrified. "Beth you wouldn’t? "
Josef laughed. "It is perfect for the two of you. Tortured dark haired brooding vampire and a beautiful blonde who knows how to wield a stake."
Beth had a wicked grin. "I’m so glad you agree Josef. You won’t mind bleaching your hair platinum blonde and everyone calling you Spike."
"Beth if anyone comes near me with hair dye they’ll find themselves relocated to La Brea."
"I’d stay here and argue with the two of you but I have a fitting."
"I don’t see why I can’t go with you." Mick complained.
"The groom can’t see the bride in her dress before the wedding. You should know that. I’ll see you later."
Josef waited until Beth left and said. "You should know that tradition. What is bothering you?"
"I can’t shake this feeling. I’ve just been worried about her the last couple of weeks."
Beth loved her gown. She felt like a queen in it. Rosa placed it in the box and Beth started to get changed. As she was putting her pants on she noticed a shadow in the room.
She called out. "I’m not done yet."
"I’m sorry." Beth turned and saw an attractive blonde woman. "I walked in this room by mistake and your dress is so beautiful I just had to look at it."
"It is something isn’t it?"
"Yes. When are you getting married?"
Beth smiled. "October 31."
"Halloween. What fun."
"My fiancée doesn’t agree but I’m the bride."
"It is your special day."
"Yeah." Something about this woman made her uncomfortable. "When are you getting married?" Beth asked.
"January, it’s my first fitting."
Beth smiled. "Good luck."
"Thank you."
Beth hurried out of the store and headed for home.
The blonde woman pulled out her cell phone.
"Coraline, its Cynthia. Mick’s planning a wedding what do you want me to do?"
