--- Burn ---

Wild tales of flaming passion, beautiful maidens and their dashing lovers, I'd thought them all foolish, ridiculous fantasies. Love was about care, connection, sharing hopes and dreams. Building a life, brick by careful brick.

Now I'm the fool.

"A fever," he'd told me, from long ago, still bringing fire to his eyes and a tremble to his voice.

I never knew.

Until now.

Now each thought, touch, word, stokes the fierce burn in my gut, all-consuming, overpowering. I can release myself into the flame; there I don’t need to think or plan. I feel the lick of heat, eternal.

It sounds as if that's exactly where she wants to go.

Lovely, red. Lovely.

Oh very nice! I think Beth had no CLUE what he was talking about in The Ringer... none. You have her at that point, spot on.

We can only hope that she gets one. For his sake. Here, she did. Yay for Mick! :hyper2:

And for Red! :hyper2:

This is EXACTLY how I see Beth. She wasn't an unpassionate person at all! But her passion hadn't been awakened yet. And Mick did it. I absolutely think so.

This is gorgeous! It made me cry, and you'll know why... but they are good tears. :rose:

sbj, Grace, dsr, thank you all, ladies. :flowers:

Oh, alle, have a  . I agree about Beth's passion - until she met Mick it had all been channelled into other things. Then, all of sudden...

I agree. I do think that "Beth on BC" gave a little glimpse at the passion beneath the control, that not even she was aware of. But if anyone could bring it out, it'd be Mick!

Red, you are a poet. There is truth and beauty in this little gem. A pleasure to read.

Yup. I nod at every word. Beth had passion, but it was locked behind bars of convention and Josh wasn't exactly the type to wake it up. On B.C. she experienced the real Beth, but still denied it the next morning. Now she knows. Mick brought it out in her.
Your drabbles are poetry. Perfect in every word.
