"Charles can I have a big Thanksgiving dinner?" Anne asks.

"Of course you can. We’ll get whatever you want. I won’t even let Sarah cook it. We’ll get it nicely catered for you.

"No, I want to cook for the donors."

"Anne that’s not necessary"

"I also want you and Sarah to invite Mick and Coraline."

"Anne I’m not sure this is….."

"Also donors eat first. Several hours before you vampires. You just have to sit and be patient."

"Anne.."

"Please Charles. I normally had Thanksgiving with my friends. This is the first year with you and Sarah. I want it to be special."

"Whatever you want Anne. "


Anne calls her favorite New York vampire.


"Hope did I call too early?"

"No. Like Charles I usually get up around noon to spend afternoons in the office. How are you?"

"I’m fine Hope. I was wondering if you would come and join us for Thanksgiving.

"Thanksgiving? Christmas is one thing but Thanksgiving is pretty much an eating holiday."

"I told Sarah the donors need a real Thanksgiving this year. I’m cooking so Sarah won’t destroy it. We have turkey, potatoes, pies."

"Anne that sounds wonderful but I can’t eat any of that."

"I know. But I want you to come. You saved me this summer and I want to show you how thankful I am."

Hope was more touched then she would ever admit. "Anne that’s so sweet but I don’t want to intrude on Charles and Sarah.

"You won’t I made Charles buy me a freezer.

"A freezer? Like a vampire freezer."

"It’s in the guest room of my apartment."

"What about my donor? You can’t have two guests."

"She could stay with Charles and Sarah. They have plenty of room. Besides that’s where Thanksgiving dinner is so your dinner should be close."

"I thought this meal is for the donors."

"Humans are eating at two o’clock. Vampires eat at five. But the vampires will be sociable, to all the humans."

"How many vampires?

Sarah and Charles, their friends Mick and Coraline. I want you there."

"I don’t get along that well with Mick and Coraline." Hope said.

"Hope, Please. I wouldn’t be alive if it wasn’t for you."

Hope sighed she knew when to give in. "When do you want me?

"Do you remember how to cook food?

"Yes.

"Tuesday night then."

"You want me to cook!

"No, but I wouldn’t mind some help. Sarah’s useless."

I’ll be there.

Hope called Charles.


"Guess who’s coming to dinner? Hope said.

"Anne called you.

"Yes. She wants me to stay with her. Can I put my donor up with you or does she need a hotel?"

"We have plenty of room. I’m carving the turkey."

"Darling I think I’m cooking it. What’s Sarah doing?"

"Baking cakes, pies and getting the sweetest freelance in town to donate while our girls eat.

Vampire Thanksgiving. A room full of well-fed donors."

"They are going to be so sleepy with all that turkey." Charles said We’re going to need a nap.

"It’ll be cute! Hope said. We feed them lots of good food while we have light snacks. They enjoy themselves and then we have a full meal ourselves. They’re adorable when they fall asleep in your arms."

"I’m wondering how Anne will deal seeing five vampires feed."

"She’s seen you and Sarah eat hasn’t she?"

Yes.

"Then she’ll be fine.:
